For the vets out there... what should I be doing to prepare that first hit? I've got on batt on the charger now. I noticed the atty's have a slippery film on them. I think I remember reading some where that it's a good idea to wipe that off. What else... I want that first hit to be pure bliss

Regular atomizers, not cartomizers right? I'm not sure what the slippery film is. Is it on the inside on the bridge (little metal piece with the wick)? If so, they call it primer fluid and you can blow it out from the connection end into a paper towel. A few good puffs should do it.

Also, if it's an atomizer will you be dripping or using filler?

Yes... two atomizers. I unscrewed it from the battery and there's like a oil or something on it. Not much but enough to notice. I'm just concerned about the taste of that first vape. Maybe it'll just have to burn off after a few runs but I thought I recalled reading here that it's a good idea to wipe that off when you first receive your kit.

I have a box of 2ohm boge cartomijzers on the way and some drip tips. I'll commence to driping once those arrive, probably early next week. For now, I'm just concerned with prepping the grill for my first burn. The anticipation is killing me.

That's called primer fluid, and it tastes terrible!
Just wipe the outside of the atty down. Then drip three or four drops of juice into the atty, let it sit for a minute, and then blow that juice out into a paper towel. Then screw in onto the bat, drip in three drops, put the drip tip on and enjoy your first vape.

    Should add;
With a 510 atty, I never drip through the drip tip. The hole is to small, and you will end up with juice in your mouth. You can use that fake cartridge that comes with the atty for a drip tip until you get a real one.

Okay, so regular atomizers with filler. If there is oil on the outside then just wipe it off with a paper towel. You should also blow the primer out like I mentioned before.

The cartridges are empty I assume? I preferred just dropping the liquid straight down into the filler. It takes about 20 drops for a regular cartridge but I don't think the amount for the eGo cartridges is the same. Drop slowly and let it soak down until you get a feel for it. There are some good guides posted with various methods and it should tell you the correct amount of drops (it can vary though).

Either way, when you get the right amount the filler should be very wet on top but don't let the liquid go above it or it will flood the atomizer when you try to vape. When you flood you'll either freak your atomizer out and it won't wick or you'll get juice in your mouth. If the atomizer doesn't wick, you can use the method I mentioned for getting the primer out but one puff should do it. If it gets in your mouth just spit it out and it will most likely be okay after that. If not, blow it out or try again.

Make sure to read the guides because most people have their own way of doing things. Find out what you prefer. =D

I forgot about putting a couple of drops right on the atomizer. It's been a while since I used filler/atomizers. It helps IMO.

When I dripped though I didn't take the drip tip off and I didn't have any problems there. I held the bottle of liquid above, aimed, and it went where it was supposed to.

TJ... my man. Thanks for the advice. Attys have been wiped down and my charging battery is now showing a green indicator light... (Batter up).

I should mention again that I don't have the drip tips yet. Just the standard components that came with the kit. 5 cartridges.

    I just had a thought...

Taking the drip tip off (when you get it) before you drip would be a good idea until you get a feel for it. People usually recommend 3 drops at a time but you can do more, it all depends. When you get used to watching the wick soak up the liquid you should have good idea and be able to do it with the drip tip on.

Also, you do not need a drip tip to drip. You can use a cartridge with no filler to keep the heat off your lips. =D

becareful of this...the Riva I got had attys/carts and I tried this, removing the filler and using it as a drip tip...WHOA, the plastic started melting...not good...not good at all...I'm not saying all carts will do this but be aware it can happen.........

I've had it happen with wet filler in the cartridge. Most of my cartridges would develop ridges from the heat over time either way. Some people cut the cartridge down so it isn't so close to the atomizer but generally it wasn't a big problem for me.

I dripped before I ever knew drip tips existed or maybe even before they came out. We found a way. =D

I must say, that I'm enjoying this PV so far. I'm getting the technique down. I wasn't getting as much vapor as I thought I would initially. Got up this monring and attached the battery that charged over night, loaded it up with the vanilla cream caramel coffee... YESSSS! It's lovely.

Thanks to all for your help, advice, recomendations, and general knowledge to help a new out. I really wanted to grab a analog this morning (as has been my ritual for a while) but after a couple of tokes on the eGo - I'm good.
