It seems to me that you are looking in the wrong place for what you are after. Whether on a 510 or an eGo, the tank's purpose is not to increase the vapor. In fact you might get a little less. The tank is for more convenient filling and less filling.

You need to be looking at LR (Low Resistance) or HV (High Voltage).

Vapor production is greatly effected by how you hit it. This video demonstrates a couple techniques.

I use an eGo-T often now, and love them. I didn't like them initially on release. However, they changed the size of the "needle" tube on the ego-T atomizer after the initial release, and the wicking is better because of it. I have two of the atomizers with this change and they are both winners IMO. I get good flavor, great vapor, but throat hit is diminished (I overcame this by switching to 100% pg). I believe the reason is the vapor cools so much because I am so far from the actual coil. I have not tried the 510-t, though I would like to, but again it's a little cartridge tank in comparison to the ego tank A or B style. Also, I tend to levitate towards eGo style batts though because I prefer them for longevity. I actually would suggest the eGo-T as a starter kit now if the person is not hung up on it being different in size in comparison to a cigg.

If you like the eGo tanks...they're a very good system. If you don't...they're awful. Hmmm....not much help is it?

When I get a friend a starter kit this is what I do:
I get a single eGo or Riva style 510 USB Passthrough battery and cord.
This is a very nice battery for trying out things and deciding personal preferences on the more consumable parts of vaping. These have the charger built in, can be used while they are charging, AND you can pull them off the cord and they'll last most people several hours of constant vaping, or all day or more for light/moderate vaping.

To go with this I get them:
A drip tip.
Some juice samples.
One tank kit (atomizer with carts) to try.
A regular 510 atomizer with LUCID or SMART carts.
A pack of CE2 style cartomizers
A pack of regular poly-fill cartomizers.

This gives them a sample of many things to try out so they can find their true love and know better what to order in the future.

I'll shop around for a USB Passthrough starter kit that has some or all of the stuff mentioned above...then add the rest...comparing options till I find a deal I'm happy with. This is a link to just one example but by all means shop around for a deal that suits you:

With something like this as the starting point, add a drip tip, tank atty and carts, some of each carto type, and that well covers a very wide range of options. All that combined will probably run ya between $60 and $80 after using coupons and stuff, shipping included.

I'd start with something like that...and add samplings of everything else till I hit my budget ceiling :)

Usually you can put together a nice sampling of all the major systems for the price of alot of the two battery 'kits' out there. Even if your friend decides he wants some 'smaller lighter' batteries, or 'larger more powerful' ones...that first eGo style PassThrough will be well used. It is a very solid 510 platform that some people do outgrow, but will get every penny's worth of service from them :)

Info on The Tank System
Some love them, some hate them. They have little tanks that are pretty easy to fill and very easy to change out. Many people like them because they can fill a hand full of these and carry them on the go. The best way to find out is to try one :)

There are lots of options really...from direct dripping, to carts and cartos, to fancy tank feeders and bottom feeding mods. It's all up to personal preference really as none of them are totally problem free, and all of them have various benifits.

question: do you have to refill the tanks, or can you just use new cartridges with the ego/510 tanks? i'm very new!

There may be someone out there selling them filled but, I haven't seen it. They are hollow plastic with no filler. Very easy to pop the top off and fill them.

PS...I should add...there are some personality types that I would not gift the 'big sample tray' setup I described above.

If they aren't the type to sit down and mess with stuff and try things...I'd probably just get them a disposable or a 2piece pre-filled carto based kit and observe their interest in it. Then go from there...

I'd start out with an Ego with some cartridges and cartomizers. Down the line purchase the T-atty and tanks.

If you're new to vaping and have issues with the tank you might become super frustrated. Filling and throwing on a cartomizer is super easy. Fooling with a tank that is having issues takes some level of skill.

I've used 510 cartos, attys, tank carts, and CE2's, I also have the eGo-T.

My favorite PV of all, for flavour, TH, vapour production, battery life and ease of use is the Go-Go. #2 fave-modded CE2, #3 fave-eGo-T with LR atty, last but not least-510 tank cart with LR atty.

With the Go-Go, there's no messing around, no mods, no leaks, no problems, just consistant hit after hit. You just fill up and go. I need huge TH and flavour, and I get it.

Don't even use the rest of the $300+ gear I've bought. I should really sell it all in the classifieds.

I looked into the Go-Go and it looks pretty promising. Huge battery and huge carto. The only downside would be it's somewhat proprietary. And I'd think it'd be difficult to test juices. Once you pour 3 ml into a carto you're sort of committed.

How do you think flavor compares to an ego or 510? I just purchased the big 3.5 cartos and while they're great sizewise the flavor is a little light to me compared to a boge carto. Just curious.

The go-go probably is great but, it's only great if you know what you want to vape all day. If you fill that monster carto with something you don't want to vape all day, you're stuck. People new to this don't know what most juice is much less what they are going to want to vape for an extended period. So, while it might be great for someone that's been at it a while, I don't think it's good for someone learning.

I can compare the Go-Go flavour to dripping on a bridgeless 510 atty. The flavour is enhanced over any other carto I've tried, with absolutely no "carto flavour" I was worried about that.

Out of 7 I've put in my Go-Go, the only flavour I've run into problems with is my RY4. Tastes great in my eGo-T, horrible in the Go-Go. I thought it was a burnt carto, but I washed it out, filled it with another flavour and it's good to go. Guess I should keep my eGo around for that.

You may be right. If I started all over again, I would buy a 3.7 USB passthrough with bridgeless attys and a drip tip along with the Go-Go. Test flavours by dripping, fill the Go-Go with the good ones.

Check this out..e-power I have already had an ego tank system and quit using the tanks.. I refuse to spend my time fiddling with crap that is 'not quite ready for prime time'. These new e-power egos rock. You can use them with a 510 atty and carto, or clearomizers, or the new dual coil cartos (which I LOVE) You charge the batteries out of the unit and can replace them if they go bad and they are more powerful (1050 mah) than ego batteries. They will offer replacement switches soon, so this is like an ego but more powerful and it's not a throw-away, you can replace everything on it if you need to. The dual coil carto's are awesome you get about 100 times the flavor and vapor than you EVER will in an ego tank. The kit is cheap and if you don't want to buy the dual coils it comes with attys and cartos that are refillable. This is hands down the winner in 'what' to order unless you are looking for an expensive mod.

Agreed, I absolutely LOVE my e-power. I started with a standard 510 starter kit (2 standard batts, 2 standard batts, a charger and 5 carts) and an extra bottle of coffee liquid. Which worked great and everything but I wanted more battery life, I couldn't go anywhere without my usb charger and I was getting sick of having to constantly drip. So I did some more research and found the e-power, and ce2s...and the turbine...and the maximizer giantomizer...and dual coil cartos...and a LOT more. After some playing around I found the setup that works for me. E-Power with XL Fluxomizers (gotvapes ce2s) with some old no.7 from nicotine nirvana for my everyday vape and caramel apple and ry4 when I wanna mix it up some.

All in all, I think that Tank systems are generally just convenience based. There, I said it. I dont think any serious vaper would rely only on a tank system as their only setup. Personally i'm a dripper, have been since ive started. I purchased the eGo-t LR with the tanks and the thing lasted me three days. I did love it the first two days i vaped the crap out of it, but I'm pretty sure i heard the thing pop once and it was done.
On its way to me now is a 510-t LR atty with tanks. I'm really only trying out these tank systems because i dont feel like dripping at work. Its so much easier just to pop on a fresh tank when I need one. hoping the 510-t's can live up to all the hype people like VST are giving them.
Just my two cents.
