Ego + Tank and Mod + Atty - Is it viable?

I've been toying around with the idea of having a mod and RDA for when I'm at home and just want to chuck clouds, and then a smaller Ego setup for when I'm out in public or in a chain vaping mood.

Has anyone done this? I have my first mod on the way (atty already arrived) and wouldn't mind buying a new Spinner or Twist and Aerotank Mini. The only problem I would see in this is managing juices and their nicotine levels. 6-12mg knocks me out on a dripper, but I don't feel an overwhelming hit unless I vape on 24mg juice in a tank. 18mg is the sweet spot for me on my Protank Mini 2 right now.

WHy wouldn't it be viable.

Out and about I use a cigalike LOL

At home I do the Mech + RDA thing

You just have to find what works for you. THere is no right or wrong way to be a vaper.

I wasn't sure if I would find it being a waste of money down the road. The second setup is around another $50, which could buy me a load of juice instead.

Realistically you really NEED a backup anyway. Nothing worse than something breaking when the stores are closed.

I buy most of my stuff online, though! But, yeah, I get what you're saying. My buddy let me borrow his SID and Aerotank while my mod is coming in and it didn't work at all today. I can't remember the last time I went 24 hours without vaping.

I also buy my gear online as the nearest real B&M is a 70 mile drive. That said if everything broke I would hit a gas station for a cigalike rather than risk smoking again. Problem is here the gas stations are not 24 h our LOL.

I like to tell new vapers they need at a minimum

2 batterys/devices
2 toppers (with extra coiling supplies or coils)
2 chargers
at least 30 days worth of juice (60 would be better)

Now what you choose for any of those components is entirely up to you and what works for you. The important point is to always have a backup

The biggest mistake I made when I got into vaping was not buying two Spinners. The battery life was already low enough as it is (650mAh), so I would blow through that battery and end up without a vape for a couple hours while it was charging. Thankfully, I can just swap out batteries on my mod, but that will happen more often than not if all I use is an RDA.

I could just save like $20 and simply buy a bigger Aerotank to use on the mod when I want a 'normal' vape out in public. Decisions, decisions.

That is also an option.

I would still be looking for a 2nd inexpensive mod that uses the same batterys as the one you have. What happens if your mod breaks?

I don't even want to think about the day my mod breaks. :( The Turtle Ship V2 in black is slick.

I mean, I'm running a dripper on my Ego battery, and have a couple of clearos hanging around for the off-chance I'll be out and about and not want to deal with the dripper.

So any combo is possible!

Dripper on an Ego? I thought normal sized tanks on 14/17mm batteries looked weird, but this is news to me!

THe Squid is small enough to look fine on an ego BUT you do have to build it at 1.8 ohm or so otherwise it is a battery killer. Those EGOs can't take the punishment. THat is actually where I started dripping.

I have an Octopus RDA. It makes it a little top-heavy, but it's not terrible, and as long as I keep the ohms above 1.2 I'm not worried about anything exploding or just not working. No sub-ohm cloudchasing for me, but eeehhhh.

I wanted to go with a Squid since those are about the same diameter as the Ego batts, but realized if I ever DID upgrade to a mech, an Octopus would give me more options.

I would never use a dripper on an Ego, but that's just me. Too many limitations to get the full effect of an atty.

Even so neither the octo or the squid are all that expensive. Use a beauty ring from a protank and you have a nice integrated look even with the octo

Note I said started ;)

These days my main rigs are a pair of REO grands + RM2s

I was just offering an option with the ego + squid. Seriously though were I you I would be hunting a cheap mech for backup.

when out n about, im using a hana and a kayfun. when im stationary (i.e in my office at work, at home etc.) im using a nemesis and tugboat dripper.yes it does blow through batteries, but i run 4 sonys in rotation so im always sure i have power for my mech. and if all else fails, i still have an ego with a carto tank on it.
