I know it leaks. I think there are two kinds of leaks.
Stressed tank, bad fit leaks and low-wick drip through. What are folks coping strategies for the leaks?

I have 4 atomizers and 10 tanks. I've gotten ten days out of it so far but for it to 12x4 +8 =$56.00 plus misc shipping say $60 i don't feel i have really broken even yet compared to buying 5-10 solid 510 fitting atomizers and some carts or 20-30 cartomizers. Maybe add a little premium for wasted juice with this because in blowing them out to get them back up to speed i have wasted 5-10? mls. ok $10 bucks max.

so what's folks fixit-coping strategies.

what i do is blow them out. load on a new tank and nurse it along for 4 hours or so (maybe one refill if vaping steadily) then set that atomizer aside to dry out and start again..
not much of a technique. i know some of you have much better ideas.
please share.

From "six" on the super long "New" ego Tank thread (here's the best kind of practical tip i have gotten after 3 days readin the forum) (also i've tried posting reading over in the ego models sub sub forum but there's not much traffic there)
Leaks: Not all leaks have anything to do with the atty or wick. One of my friends tank started leaking yesterday. One of mine started leaking today. - My buddy was outdoors working when our Canadian neighbors decided to send us low pressure and cold air (temperature dropped from 28 above to 9 below in about two hours). - That tank is not leaking today. - Mine is a little different story. I couldn't figure out what happened for a while.

I needed both my hands for a few minutes this morning and so I put the whistle tip between my teeth and bit down hard enough to not drop my ego while I worked. It changed the shape of the tank slightly and now it doesn't fit quite as well. It spins in the atty cone easier and just doesn't quite seat as well as it did. Popped in a fresh tank and it doesn't leak.

Too tight a draw: I grabbed a fresh ego battery that I hadn't used before and went out yesterday evening. At some point, I noticed the draw was really tight and I thought my atty was starting to plug up. - That wasn't it. It was the difference in threads. The atty snugged down tighter on that battery than it did on the other two I've been using and didn't let as much air come in the notches on the bottom of the cone.

Muted Flavors: I didn't experience this until today. Some of my flavors have certainly tasted different in the tank system than they did from carts, but I hadn't noticed a *lack* of flavor. I've been blowing my atty out between tanks and changing flavors pretty often. I've only used two flavors today and yesterday and I didn't blow out the atty between tanks. So, I went maybe 6 tanks without blowing out the atty. - No flavor. - I blew out the atty and gave it two or three quick dry fires and the flavor is back. - The design of these attys allows a lot of juice to exist in them. When I blow them out, quite a lot comes out. For me, it seems to be a matter of not allowing different flavors to mix in the atty and making sure to blow it out after each tank (or maybe 2 tanks if I didn't change flavors).

I hope that helps a few people. I've had very little trouble with my ego-t. Some of the problems mentioned in this thread could have convinced me not to buy it had I read all that before I already owned it. - Some folks really make it sound like this system is completely flawed. Mine isn't. Mine works great. - It may be that some attys are problematic and it may be that some of the leaks etc are caused by such problematic attys... but not every problem with such symptoms is a bad atty or some inherent flaw in the design.

I got mine to stop leaking - maybe a fluke, but it worked and hasn't leaked since. If you look inside the tank end of the atty (I need a flashlight to get a good view, you'll see a flat metal plate/disk that has a flat side. If you line up the flat side of the tank with that flat edge, the leaking stopped - at least for me. Hasn't leaked since.

the down side is that I can't turn the tank so the tip is in a comfortable position with the button.

You can remove the spike/tube with a pair of pliers and orient the plate with your button, then it's straight. You'll need needle-nose pliers. Put one tooth of the pliers against the spike/tube on the low side of the spike. Put the other tooth of the pliers outside of the atty with protection, like a rag or something, to prevent scratches (keep it purty lol). Squeeze the pliers gently but firmly til you hear/feel a release. Turn the pliers around to the same position, but opposite orientation (tall, pointy side of spike/tube) and repeat. The spike/tube should be free. It's just slightly pressed into the metal sleeve. To re-install, just put the spike/tube on the end of a tank and slide it in. Give it a firm press or a few taps with the pliers til it's seated. Be careful not to whack it too hard or you can damage the plastic tank. Good luck!
