I got the Ego tanks in a few days ago. I really like how they work. The Vapor is great, but I don't get any throat hit at all. I think it's because I have been using LR510's. It would be nice to be able to use this on the Provari and turn the volt's up and get a throat hit. What would be the best way to go about doing this. Should I buy a 510 to 801/901 and a 810/901 to 510? Would 801 or 901 be better. Is there such a thing as 510 to 510?

I've been contemplating the same thing. I've heard that there is an extender that you use when you want to charge an ego bat on a standard 510 charger and that this extention was enough to be able to thread an ego atty on. Not sure how easy it is to get one of those. Or I'm thinking of trimming the skirt. Hope someone can comment on this.

There are several of us on ECF who have been looking at a work around for the ego tank system on non-Ego batteries. The battery extender being spoken about here is 7/8 inch and leaves quite a gap between the battery housing and the Ego tank atomizer...which allows too much air flow and thusly for it to work exactly how it was intended--not to mention that is doesn't look aesthetically pleasing.

I did find a 510 to 510 adaptor from avidvapor.com that I ordered but it is only 1/4 inch. The clearance that you'll need between the battery housing and for the ego atomizer to sit properly is 7/16 inch( but this may vary depending upon which mod you have).

Right now it looks like the best option is going with a 510-901 to 901-510 adaptor which I have on order. If you go to this link on ECF (super-T forum) you will see our discussion and pictures of how this looks on a P-18: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/super-t-manufacturing/107626-receiving-line-p18.html. The discussion and pictures start on 1/26/11 on this thread. Also, there are some other threads in different forums on ECF discussing this situation previously, but this is the most up-to-date.

By the way, this discussion talks about me getting an infinity mod, I have since cancelled that order and have a Provari on the way.

Hope this makes sense...I've only had a few sips of coffee so far.

Sweet. Thanks Gator. Saw a picture from that forum, does not look too bad at all. I'm going to try the 510-910 910 to 510. I'm sure there will be an easier way down the road, but this should work for the time being.

I have a provape-1 and that's how I used the ego-t on mine. Yeah, it looks strange, but it worked....lol

I used my ego tanks on a provari during our upstate meet up last week, using that battery adapter. It looked strange, but it worked just fine, and after fiddling with the voltage for a few- ended up at 3.9v. It was such a nice vape that I am going to buy the 3.7v battery and chargers for my puresmoker V3- so that I can get close to what the provari gave me (that is a cheap, quick fix, but... I saw the waiting list for the provari's) and may end up buying that mod in the end.

I thought that the eGo-T didn't attache to the battery threads only to the cone threads I don't own one so I could be wrong....

sorry if this has already been addressed but.....the eGo-T atty uses the 510 threads and NOR the cone threads. Matter of fact the T atty does not even have cone threads

So.... just get two 510/510 adapters. Stack up is 1/2", leaving you a 1/16" gap that wouldn't be esthetically jarring.

Although, personally, if vaping meant I had to carry the rusted out muffler of a 1976 AMC Gremlin, I'd carry it. I'd just wear gloves.

It's really all hypothetical until I get my Provari...and yes I have 2 of the 510-510 1/4 inch adaptors, which may end up working w/no gap--thank you.

I have done this on an ego type B atty .. grind the bottom off the atty skirt, I used a bench grinder but it took a little while, amount varys according to mod of course as some 510 connectors stick out more than others. But the skirt section is not part of the tank and can be removed.
If you get the length just right .. will need to hacksaw a slot for airflow as well.

The ego carto skirts are easier as they are just plastic .. side cutters work a treat.

This actually looks pretty cool with the steel Tank atty!

Here's my solution... I hate the goofy looking gaps that happen with the adapters available... So I made my own...
