After 2 years of 801's with a little bit of 510 on the side I decided to try the ego. The problem is I can't find a reliable local source for 801 atomizers, and the only China supplier who has the 801's I like has a minimum order of $217. So I went along to eciggies in Pretoria and got a couple of tank atomizers and a LR cone atomizer to compare. I also bought a 650mah ego battery to compare with my indulgence and as a backup.

First off I'm impressed with the build quality of the atomizers and battery, nice matt black finish.

The LR atomizer is really powerfull, instant vape good TH and flavour. At R80 I would definately use these instead of 801's, even if they didn't last as long. Using it with dripping it goes through a hell of a lot of liquid, I needed to get used to dripping more often, but it all goes to vapour so it's a good thing. If I use it in a small room with VG liquid it really fogs the place up, this is not a stealth device.

The tank is also instant with the vapour production, but the TH and flavour is less. This is not a problem for me as I don't mix my liquids so strong now anyway. I found I needed to use a bit less VG as the liquid needs to wick through quite a small hole. I've been using the tank for over 2 weeks now, and I'm impressed, there are all the good things about dripping without the hassle of actually dripping. I'm using one atomizer and 2 tanks, I've found filling the tanks with a syringe is easiest, each takes about 1ml and I'm using about 4 tanks a day.

At R200 each these tanks are going to have to last for me to use them full time, hopefully as they become more popular the price will come down. They are definately the way to go and I recommend them for ease of use and enjoyment. You get a consistent vape over and over, just fill a couple of tanks and you are set to go for a few hours heavy vaping.

The battery impressed me as well, it handled the LR atomizer easily, no discernable diffence between it and my 3000mah on hit. It charges very fast as well, faster than you could flatten it vaping I reckon, so with 2 of them you would be pretty much set. The usb charger also seems sturdy.

Hi Gavin

Glad to hear you are enjoying it - I will have to ask Walter for some commission one of these days :p
What atty do you normally use with the Indulgence, the 801?? I thought that Gerhard has 801's in stock for R110? http://www.easycigarette.co.za/

I used the eGo tank for a while, but it seems I got too accustomed to the TH of the LR atty's. The standard resistance eGo- tank is a bit weak on the TH.

- but I must agree the TH on the LR cone atty can be a bit too much, especially first thing in the morning. and no stealth vaping possible.

Happy Vaping

Hi Nomdo, I saw Gerhards' but I thought I may as well try the LR cones at R80. I use an 801-510 on my indulgnce now for the cones, LR and Tank, it's a bit like vaping on a bicycle pump but I'm used to it and now don't have the stress of batteries., I'm still on my 2 18650's that I got a year ago with my indulgence, and I have 2 spares from deal extreme, I'm on my second charger though.

Bicycle pump haha , (Pls post a pic if you can)

but seriously a RangeRover and Big Battery Mod are on the top of my list for when I win the powerball - I think an Indulgence would go well with a RangeRover.

I would love to buy an ecig that will last longer than 2 months (for me). The only way an ecig lasts for me is if I don't use it very often. So I am looking at the USA made 3.7V mods, but they are a tad expensive, with most them boasting about the same battery capacity as the 900 mAh eGo battery. So I'm not yet convinced.

yea, the battery some-how always dies. when I was still using auto's (M201), the battys got killed by e-liquid.

With the eGo I have lost 4 x 650 mAh batteries and 2 x 900 mAh battys since July 2010. so 6 battys in 8 months.

Of the 650 mAh battys the first one overheated while charging, the second one refused to charge. The 2replacements (one under warranty) lost their ability to hold a charge (one prolly only held ~100 mAh, the other did not charge). FAter about 3 months. The 900 mAh I got in Dec and the other on 19 Jan 2011. With the 900 mAh battys, was at fault:
With the extra weight, when you drop the 900 mAh batty, it breaks. I dropped both of them, so now I only have the Ego PT battery left.

Hence I decided to get the cheaper battys from Gerhard (Riva battys??) - Should be here by tomorrow.

I also have a DSE905 with the 3.7V 900 mAh 14500 batteries (AA size). Their capacity for holding a charge has also declined consideribly (1 hour only with a LR901 atty)

So I guess what I'm looking for is a mod that is very robust and can handle some physical abuse, and batteries that will last 6 months before their charge holding capacity start to decline. I'm prolly looking at $150 to get all of that?

Sheesh!!!! 8-o That sucks!!!! STOP, you gonna give me nightmares. That is a LOT of batteries for 8 months.

Sounds like you definately need something a tad more robust. I've dropped my 900mAh xpower batts a couple of times but fortunately still ok. They used to be black until i scraped it all off because of scratches and now they are stainless steel :) That's why i'm going for s/s now (and it does look cool)

Here's wishing you better luck with your future batts :toast: Let us know how it goes with your rivas

My eGo-T is still working but the vapor is rather thi and no throat hit - I guess I will clean & dryburn and see if it helps.

My Riva battys from Gerhard are working just fine. The softer button is actually easier on my finger tips. I can find no functional difference between the Riva and eGo mega 900 mAh batteries.

I think I'm getting 2 more.

My ego-t is still working fine, I've just been using the one atty with 2 tanks, I've put my lr cone aside for a rainy day. I'm very happy with the ego-t, I mix my own menthol so I can make it as strong or weak as I like, it's been nearly 4 weeks now with 1 atty so I'm pretty much sold on these. Nomdo have you tried removing the 2 small bits in the mouthpiece? Just bite down a bit on the end and they come out, it improves the airflow. I never clean or dry burn my atties, they seem to last longer with less fiddling, if you need to change flavours blow out the atty then vape a bit of plain pg with glycerine.

This was exactly what I wanted to try when I ordered the tank system and the LR cone atty with a drip tip and I have say that I agree with it all. I'm such a happy camper at the moment! If there was never any more improvements made, I would be content!

But I'd like to see more improvements made :D

Twisp's tank fed atomisers are a pain. More liquid leaks out thru the notches on the atomiser and from around the battery's button than remains in the tank. The connection between the tank and atomiser is obviousy not a water tight fit. New tank cartridges do not help. I am constantly having to wipe the liquid off the siggie and my fingers.
