There is a part of me that just is afraid of using a different charger than the one that is made for my device. Probably because I don't know about input and output. Myself? I'm not really ready or need to know that. I just make sure that my chargers (wish they would not be all proprietary) match my devices that they came with.

I am just asking a simple question. I would rather use something that is useable than pay 6-12 bucks for something I may already have.

He might have not worded his reply well, but the fact is these batts don't just pop n fizzle- they can damage your body, and burn your house down.

So, sometimes we get a little too serious maybe about battery safety and handling nicotine- but I think we're just looking out for each other.:)

I know that. That is why I asked this question. I just wanted to ask for other opinions. I am not cheap but I prefer to save when I can. I'd still like to know where he found a $3 charger. The only ones I've seen are $6-12. Believe me I've already had an issue with a battery.

I'm sorry then. If you're that low on funds, perhaps over in the PIF section someone might have an xtra one for you.

Although it's borderline, I wouldn't use it. The rule with DC charging is that the charger must be able to deliver more current than the device will draw at maximum charge rate. So any charger with an equal or higher rating than the original will be OK. 450ma is not far off the 500 but what if the battery needs 451ma? IMHO the risk is not worth it.

I,m not looking for a hand out. I,m not poor either. I didn't know this was going to turn in a debate. I just wanted to know if it was safe because I was unsure. I do not have an ego twist but I was thinking about it. If I can spend $30+ bucks on ejuice I think I can spend $6 on a charger. I'm sorry if I offended anyone by asking a simple question.

I don't think anyone intended to offend anyone else Kari2000. The PIF forum is not about belittling people either. It's about helping each other. No-one should be ashamed of their financial position. We look after each other here and you are one of us. You haven't offended anyone with your question and I'm sorry if you were offended by any of the answers you've been given. I'm sure that wasn't anyone's intention. :)

Can I charge a ego twist on a trex charger.? Input: dc5v output: dc4.2v 450mah
I charge my eGo twist with my MVP charger which is the same dc5v input and 4.2v output and it is also 450mah. I got it the same place as my second eGo... but I don't remember where. sorry about that.
anyway, I would say go for it. it works and does not harm either my original or new eGos
