So, yeah, from time to time intermittently after I fire it, the fire button will stay lit up. If i look at it carefully, only the led on the right side is staying lit, not the led on the left side. It isnt firing, but the light IS staying lit up, and its doing it on both of my black Twist's. I havent noticed it on either of my gf's pink twists but then again i barely use them. Not much of a big deal since our provari minis should be coming in the mail soon, but i would like to figure out what this is/means.

Yeah one thing I've learned about ego twist is that ~30 dollars does not a good pv make. :/ i guess they're a good throw away batt for places you don't want your more expensive pv's. it's just annoying because sometimes I won't notice that it stays lit and put it back in my pocket where it's probably draining ...

I got one in the mail today and it's happened a few times already. Mine is definitely firing when the light gets stuck on. I'm just watching it carefully and making sure to click it off if it happens. I'm hoping it is just because it's new and it will stop as I use the button more, but that may be wishful thinking. :)

Mine did that and I had to "lift" the button up. It happens now and again on mine, but at least it is still usable.

Same with mine. And I got two different ones from different vendors cuz the first vendor was sold out of one color I wanted. They both do it. One I sent for replacement back cuz it did it all the time and I couldn't lift it to stop the firing. Now it just does it intermittently, I have to be careful with them.

Not sure about the OPs led half on/not firing issue though :( Have you contacted the vendor?

Yep, my gf even sent one back to litecigusa, she tried sending it back but of course 5 click locked it when she sent it and they sent it back saying the reason it didnt work was because it was locked... Basically calling her an idiot. All they had to do was read the ticket, where she clearly posted several times what all that was wrong w/ it, but reading their responses to her which she showed me, it seemed that they werent even reading what she was saying to them, just trying to get her off their back.

At this point I don't really care, we have our provari minis now and hardly use the ego's, but I will say that this same problem has happened to two of my twists. Also on one of them, I'm lucky if it lasts an hour (1000mah and a couple weeks old).

Yep... exact same thing happening to me. I got a black 650mah and a stainless 650mah from Virgin Vapor. Both of the batteries had the "sticking on" buttons. I sent them back to the vendor and they were kind enough to send me a replacement for both of them. Guess what??? These batteries are doing the same thing. It's not constant but happens fairly regularly. Both batteries. I feel a bit anxious about using these batteries and it looks like this is a recurrent problem with the eGo twists.

I'm with you, thank God for my provari's

Yeah, and this is the LEAST troubling thing that has happened to them. I have a feeling that they could be a good product if only they werent made by children in sweatshops who are suffering from dissentary(sp?), needless to say i wont be buying any more of these, possibly a vision spinner as a backup once these give out on me, i have heard ok things about those, although the sweatshop factor is still there.

yes, the firing button gets stuck, i'm not ready to call it a bad device because of a sticky button, when its more of an annoyance than a deal breaker....in my opinion it's STILL the best budget VV device, and the spinner is not a true VV, its more of a multiple voltage, as it has a few settings, but none of the in-betweens, THAT i call a deal breaker, as the twist simply gives you better control over the vape you get...the only superior option i could see to that would be the new VV eGo with the digital readout and has a passthrough, but its still an eGo, and still has that same button...

as for the sweatshop thing, there ARE american made options, you stated you have the provari, so that's one thing down....as far as smaller sized, the only thing i could think of would be to make your own, like a laser pointer mod or something...if you are hell bent on not making one, i know there are other things made in america, but they won't be so small, the REO is the first thing that comes to mind other than the provari...i haven't used one, but i know those that have them LOVE them...another two i'm aware of are the phidius and the GLV....but i know next to nothing about them.

Thanks for starting this thread Jsl1ce. I was looking for something I could show to my vendor so she wouldn't think I was just a whiner! LOL
I'm going to keep using them I think. It kind of seems like the problem get a little better as I continue to use the batteries. Not happening as much as it did in the beginning.

And YES the sweatshop issue makes me very sad :(

Thanks again!!

In my experience (1 twist, multiple egos, several with this issue), the battery button will "break in" over time. I hate this issue too, but continuing to use the device will make the stuck button issue much less of a problem after a while.

Thanks for the post!! It's good to know this!!:toast:

I was trying not to open this can of worms but... I am not calling it a bad device because of the one problem w/ the sticky button, i am calling it a bad device because of the multitude of problems ive had w/ them. Seriously, i had one 1000mah that had the battery life drop from 2hrs to 30min in a week, (2hrs is unnacceptable for a 1000mah battery), some of them had the twist cap break off or the top collar where the button is pop off in your pocket and rip the soldered wires out. They are supposed to last 300 charges so says joyetech but imo im lucky to get 100 out of them, my gf likes to screw her tanks in a little too far and the floating pins get stuck in on hers, and when lifting them back up you can feel just how cheap they are. IMO you have to be VERY careful w/ them because of how fragile they are. All of this crap is what makes me feel that $280 for a sidewinder and $335 for a provari w/ ZAP is a great deal because i'll never have to deal w/ the frustration of these.

I was a bit confused by what you said about the vision spinner so i stuck my coworkers 900mah spinner on my multimeter and im getting the exact same range of voltage, in ~.15v increments that you would get on a twist. IMO its the same as a twist it just feels more solid and better quality.

Curiously, the battery life drop off...were you using dual coils during this time? Because they have caused issues with the amp limitations built into the twist...as far as the provari, I will be able to tell you more tomorrow when mine comes in...but I do not feel as if I've wasted money on a large superior quality pv

no dual coils, ive never seen the point plus they are hell on batteries. Just vivi novas on my egos. Anyways congrats on your provari, you wont be disapointed, my provari / ZAP is almost the perfect APV imo, pretty, very durable, VV, and worth every penny because all I'll ever have to buy is batteries, mesh, kanthal and juice untill the vapocalypse.
