I experience the same thing when increasing the voltage with a Kanger horizontal coil carto @2.7 ohms and with 1.5ohm 306 attys. My conclusion is that it's just the heat from the coil transferring to the connector/top switch assembly on the eGo. This is especially true when using the cone. As long as the heat does not go past the switch, in my experience it hasn't, then all should be OK. If the eGo ever gets hot below the switch / where the battery is, then I would worry. Anyone else have a chime in on this?

I have two 1000mah twists, and they don't seem to get hotter than my Kgo's really.... I crank up the volts on a 2ohm cisco atty to 4.8 and really don't have an issue unless i chain-vape... And my tanks do great, I can't really tell if it's getting really hot or not, but I haven't noticed it. If i do, I'll repost later...

The thing worth noting here is that all of the gear we are using that causes the "heat" issue are bottom coil clearos, horizontal coil kangers, and essentially any atty bc again, the coil is very close to the threads. I don't think it is anything to be concerned about. The reason it is heating up is because the coils are so close to the battery. That's why it's fine with Vision eGos and the likes. And yes, I am a very bad chain vaper.. But, 1.5ohm 306 attys are breaking me of that bc if I don't stop to let it rest, it will burn me. lol
