Hi, it looks like I've been banned from starting new posts in the new member forum because I hit 70 posts! I hope it's ok to post a few questions here....I have been using the regular 510's for a couple of months and after reading here and gettng tired of all of the charging I just yesterday received my new ego twist. I am liking it! I have some new cartomizers coming but for now I am using the same carts that I used with my 510's. It seems to me that the twist dries the carts out pretty fast but I am really loving being dialed in right at the number 4. I've really liked using the carts but I am beginning to see where I would want a tank! For work I would still use carts though.....not sure what anyone will say about this giant cigar laying around....I do not think anyone ever noticed the 510. Is it best to let this battery go all the way down and then charge it? I am charging it now before it went all the way down...and hopefully this charge will last all day until I get home. No more 510's hanging all over my monitors! Also is it best to clean the battery and if so how? I couldn't find a manual online, so I just went with the press five times to lock or unlock it, screw in the carts and dial up. Pretty much what I did. Thanks!!

Tracey, you are unable to create new threads in the "New Members" section once you hit 70 posts. You are most certainly not banned from posting in there. ;)

With regards to maintenance of the Twist, yes you can charge the battery without discharging it completely. For cleaning, you want to be focusing on the threads and the centre post area. When you take the battery off to charge it, roll up a tissue and gently wipe the area where the centre post is.

Another very important thing to remember with the eGo style batteries, do not over tighten your atomizer/cartomizer when screwing it on. This pushes the centre post down, and eventually leads to a short that will fry your battery.

Hope this helps.

Happy Friday!!

Thank you and I edited my post about the new memebers forum! I knew that, I just typed it wrong. Sounds like I am ok with keeping the battery charged and the tissue wipe I was doing with my 510's also. Not screwing the carts down too tight is also something I learned with the 510's, if I screwed them down too tight it would go off on it's own. :) Thank you!!

For thread cleaning, I am very partial to using cotton swabs. They seem to be just the right size to fit into a 510 threaded connection. Every once in awhile I will notice some gunk build up between the battery center post and the inner walls of the threads, for that I will take whatever I have on hand, safety pin, push pin, etc ... basically something thin with a good point on it and run it around the battery post to get the gunk out.

Now with regards to tanks, everyone has their own opinion there, but of late I have been enjoying the Kanger T2 top coil. It's just a tad thicker overall than an eGo battery. Granted, this pic shows it on a 1000mah battery that I only usually use at home or as an absolute backup when out and about. Would be about an inch shorter overall on a 650mah battery.

Going to pick up a T3 bottom coil Kanger later today at the local vape store. They appear to be about the same dimensions as the T2.

Don't forget to clean the chargers connection as well. It will get some green gunky corrosion on it. Also know that after repeated charging the ego twists as with any battery will wear out. Yes get a tank, cartomizer, or just a joyetech atty and drip; carts are way old school and are substandard. Good luck to you.

Thanks for that picture. I have the 1000mah battery and it is my only battery other than the 510's. I have four or five of those. I do not have any local shops :(. I just mentioned at lunch (after mentioning last night I was good to go on accesories lol) that I may need to have a tank for home and use the cartos at work. Now I'm thinking I need another smaller battery for work, maybe the 650?

Thanks...can you recommend a tank? I may wonder over to the classifieds and see if there are any over there I can try out. Thanks also for the charger connection tip!

I have 2 Twists that I don't use very much because of the difficulty in reading the dial numbers. I just don't see carrying a magnifying glass around with me all the time. So I purchased 2 Vision Spinners (1300mah fat batts) which are a 100% improvement in visibility. vape-wise they aren't much different. I started out with the T2s but then went with Vision Nova Minis and ultimately the Vision Nova 3.5ml tanks from Got Vapes. So far as not using the tanks in public I'm way too old to care what anybody thinks about me so I use the 2 tanks and the 2 Spinners everywhere I go. The Nova clearos and tanks do not leak ever so I have no worries about cleaning the threaded ends or the chargers.

Yeah, the ViVi Mini Nova's are my prefered juice holder on my Twist. They're only slightly wider than the twist, BUT I can't recommend enough getting a skirt for your external threads or it just looks really fragile (and a bit silly). These are the ones I use (eGo Thread Sleeve Type B - Fits All Std eGos BLACK [gv-egoTypeBTHREADSLEEVE-BLACK] - $2.45 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more). (also, the tank in that pic seems to be a Mini-Nova, so that's a size shot for you)

I actually have 6 Mini-Nova's since they're super easy to clean, cheap to replace the heads on, and hold the right amount of juice for me. (note that I only have 6 because I thought I lost 3 of them and ordered replacements only to find them later). I've tried using a couple of other similar CE tank options and a Kanger and just prefer the ease of use, the warmness of the vapor, and flavor from the Mini Novas (even over the full size ones).

Honestly, when you're at the 1100mah size twist it doesn't really matter what you put on the end of it, it'll all look big. Go with convenience and preference.
