Hey Everyone,

I'm a former lurker around these parts but have decided to come and seek the advice that everyone has to offer here.

So, for starters: I bought two 1000 mah ego twists this past Friday along with a 500 mah ego charger, some Stardusts, and a few juices. Everything that I purchased is genuine Joye stuff. So far so good, but I do have several questions regarding the twists and the Stardusts.

First, the Twists: They're great so far. The VV feature is fantastic and totally makes sense to have because it allows you to adjust throat hit, vapor production, and juice flavors to some degree. I find that in the AM I want less of a TH and later in the day I can crank it up. All of the positives aside, I have a couple questions regarding these batts:

1. What is the normal charge time for an ego 1000 mah batt? I find that it can be upwards of 6+ hours, is this normal? Also, I charged my batt until the light turned green once, took it off the charger, vaped, but then only got about 2 hours out of vape time on it. I haven't had the time to fully charge one of these batts for the 6+ hours or so, but on a full charge how long will the bat last. (Disclaimer: I seem to chain vape very heavily. Moreso on the PV than on analogs.)

2. This question kind of combines the batt and Stardust together. I don't hate the Stardusts, I don't love them either. The flavor is ok, vapor is good, and I get the occasional dry/burnt hits, but my biggest issue seems to be leaking. I've noticed that after using a Stardust on either one of my Twists, a little bit of luiqid will get built up on the battery right where the heating element meets the cart. Is this normal? AND more importantly, is this detrimental to the battery istelf such as potenially causing a short? Every time I switch carts or batterys I have to swab out the inside of the battery and around the threading. Does anyone else have this issue?

So, in all, the Egos are good, but I'm just trying to get ahead of learning curve and trying to learn all of my new equipment's quirks. Any advice, tricks and/or tips would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. How do the Vivi Novas compare to the Stardusts as far as flavor, leaking issues, quality build, and wicking?

Thank you all so very, very much and have a great evening!!

I charged an empty 1000 mAh eGo twist last night, took ~3 hours. Mine came partially charged from Vapors Choice and it lasted several hours the first day and a few hours into the second day. Not sure how long the full charge is going to last since I'm using the second twist I have right now.

Sorry, I can't answer your question on the Stardust as I don't have any. But I do sometimes notice moisture on the contact point if I use an atty. This is due to me being not careful and accidentally overfilling. I go by the 3 drop rule and take about 5 drags and then put another drop or two and repeat the process. I may move to tanks but keep attys around just for tasting stuff. Tanks are so very convenient, even at 2 mL, it lasts FOREVER. I would continue to clean those contacts, nothing like a gummed up contact to ruin your day.

Hi AverageJoe, Welcome to the ECF. First this may sound rather techie but, if you have a 500mAh charger then your 1000mAh batteries should take about two hours to cycle from depleated to charged. Second if you didn't have the twist you could estimate that it should last from charged to depleted anywhere from five to ten hours on a single charge. The accepted equation is that 100mAh~1 hr vape time. Since you have a twist these numbers dont exactly cover the whole accepted rule. The booster section of the twist adds in its own losses and draw just by function of raising the output voltage. Im sure that there will be an accepted vape time for the twists....eventually. I have a 650mAh twist and it seems that I get about 3/4 of what I would normally expect from a standard 650eGo. It is my backup device so I dont find myself using it heavily nor often but I have tried to use it as a primary device and this is why I say about 3/4 what I would expect from a regular eGo.

On the next question of the stardusts...... I love, love, love the Idea behind the stardusts but, I have never enjoyed one. I probably have(had) about ten stardusts from a few different vendors. They always impressed with ok flavor and vapor like a freight train but the general wonkyness of their specific design is disheartening. At higher voltages they get really harsh, even when using the higher ohm version, and the fact that you need to baby them when they get to about half way is also offputting. I understand that there is a whole host of folks who love the stardust , but there is also a whole bunch of folks who love the atty/carts too..... to each their own. Not to mention I think china has a problem using plastic that has even the slightest bit of forgiveness to it. Why cant we get something that wont snap like a toothpick? The plastic used in the stardusts cracks if you tighten it too much, if you drop it, if you pick it up,if you pull on it,if you push on it, if you look at it from a 33.6 degree angle, really dont you guys also manufacture the plastic for like..... everything? China.Pick a better plastic next time please.

The Vivi Nova(v2) has been atop my pv now for two plus months in its optional metal sleeve. I have changed the 2.8ohm head once. I did break the clear tube within the first week but I knew that was going to happen and ordered the metal tube when I ordered the vivi. The flavor is good, the build quality is good, and with the meal tube option darn near perfect. The one I have has the shorter wicks so tipping it on its side everyonce in a while keeps it wet enough to vape the whole tank. No need to turn it upside down and swirl it like with the stardusts that I had. There is some condensation that forms in the connector but for the most part nothing that is outside of what you would expect from an atty or carto. I do regularly clean the 510 connector with a q-tip and alcohol about every week or so, and dont forget to clean the contacts on the charger. I have on their way a couple of the new Kanger T-2 clearos with the replaceable coils and have heard that these are what the stardusts should have been.... we will see... Good Luck. Happy Vaping.

Hi AverageJoe.
I am new to vaping as well. Here's my 2 cents. When you screw the stardust (or anything for that matter) in to the battery, don't tighten it too much, just twist it a lil snug. The center posts on the eGo batteries can go in, and eventually it will cause the battery to short out. People say that you can pull it out with tweezers and that should fix the problem, but it didn't work for me. I killed 2 batteries in the same evening. And are you sure you have original JoyeTech eGo twist? My 1000mAh twist lasts me all day from 5am to around 8pm on a 2.5 hour charge. Actually I just did a lil bit more research. My batteries didn't died from pushed in center contact thingy. They shorted from the tilted center pole on stardust.
