OK, so last year I started my brother on an eGo. He loves it and loves the Smoketech dually and Boge LR cartos. BUT, he is looking for a little higher voltage. Now, I "think" I know that the eGo is regulated to 3.2-3.4v, and that the Riva is unregulated, but starts about 3.7v.

So what I would like is to buy him a couple of batteries (figuring about $20 ea.) that would:

1) Work with his Smoketech and Boge 510 cartos
2) Work with his eGo cone (or have a cone available that will fit over the cartos)
3) Work with his eGo charger
4) Provide higher voltage, and maybe more mAh (but not require the vv booster)

Help, I need help from eGo experts. :)

Kgo is supposed to be regulated and a little higher than the Riva, starts at about 4.2 from what I understand. I love the Riva but am expecting a Kgo for comparison on Mon or Tues. I ordered mine through Hoosier if you want to give it a look too. Either the Riva or the Kgo would work with the smoketech and Boge cartos, not sure about the cone fitting form the Ego but the starter Kgo is a big bore cone and the Riva fits them fine too. It is not generally recommended to use one batteries charger with another MFG battery but honestly I don't know why other than if using a mini on an ego charger. I think (but can't say 100% that they would be the same from an ego). I would recommend 1100Mah, it is just a little longer but it feels right and not too big at all.

Hope that help.

The charges push out power at a different rate with different manufacturers. The Joye chargers are some sort of a quick charge and push more power out than the "off" brands. I think the off ones are usually rated around 420 MaH while the Joye are 480? I don't remember the exact numbers, but it runs the risk of overloading the other batteries.

Edit: found them both. eGo is rated at 4.2v output 420maH, the off brand is 4.2v and 300maH.

KGO kit just came in, and I have to say it is a slick little pv. Tried one of my cartos on it, and it is nice, much better than the old eGo. It is my brother's and I tested it, put it back all neat nobody has to know

Got mine in the mean time too and I am thinking it hits just a little better than the Riva as well. It seems to be lasting a little longer too so my Riva may have been getting a little weaker.

Just wanted to pop back and thank you all again. My brother smoked 3 packs a day. I bought him an eGo last December. He got down to 1/2 pack a day and I was thrilled for him. He asked me about a pv with a little more power, but was resistant to the idea of mods and removeable batteries (makes no sense to me *shrug*). He LOVES the KGO, and has actually gone without cigs for a couple of days.
