eGO USB PT: will a 1A USB-AC adapter be enough?

I've had other passthrus in the past, mostly KR808, which need a 2A USB connection in order to work. Since this eGO has a battery inside, does that obviate the need for a 2A power source?

I kinda figured the USB was there to keep the battery charged, but you are mostly vaping off the battery power (ie 3.4V output regardless), like the older 510 passthrus that had the inline battery.

Can anybody confirm this one way or the other? I've got several 1A and 1.5A USB ac chargers, but my lone 2A died when cap blew inside.

The eGo passthrough is like you think it is. The usb is charging the battery while you vape rather than actually passing electricity through the unit directly to the connector.

i'm pretty sure you can use any adapter (or even a standard computer usb port) for the ego PT since it is, like you said, just recharging the battery.

For an ego passthrough, you can either use it off your usb port or a 1a wall charger unit. Only 5v is highly recommend not to be used on a usb port and a wall charger under 2a. I hope this helps. You can go to madvapes.com and get a new 2a charger for 6.99 plus shipping...they are on sale this week.
