ego-v vv pass through with no pass through?

Hello, I'm new to vaping and I purchased an ego off this review:
Vapor Joes - Daily Vaping Deals: UPDATE: EGO-V aka KGO VV EGO PASSTHROUGH - $16.94

From my understanding, passthrough means it's supposed to work when it's plugged in, right? My unit seems to charge and work perfectly, but when i plug it in, i can't vape. I've tried pressing the power button 5 times and playing with the voltage settings, but no luck. Maybe there's something I'm missing here?

Give them a call- heard they have good customer service. IIRC, you're right, they don't act as a PT- only charge that way. But I don't think it should shut off.

It just charges the batt thru the cord- it has to have Some charge in it b4 vaping.

Maybe PBusardo's video at VJ's blog will tell you something?

thanks a lot! but it seems that my unit doesn't work when it's plugged in even when fully charged :/ strange

when you plug it in....slide and fiddle with the usb that goes into the battery. If I put mine in all the way, the blue light and the LED lights stay on. If I fiddle with it.... the lights go off and I can vape. I hope this explanation makes sense and I hope I helped someone.

When the lights go off, is it still charging? ie. Does it charge in between vapes?

the whole 'pass through' is to allow you to vape while charging. If it doesn't, I am guess that (and I am no EE or anything) that the circuit that switches off the charge circuit to allow you to vape might be faulty. From what I've read, when you hit the button, it disengages the USB power to let you fire the coil. It sounds like that isn't happening.

Yeah, it's not really a true passthrough. Anyway, I e-mailed fasttech and they responded by saying that "the passthrough specification was removed for security (??? i'm assuming this meant 'safety') reasons". Not sure if there's anything I can do about it now.

Oh well, the thing works fine and I really can't be bothered to send it back for something I barely use.

Now when I tried to charge the blue light and LED light stays on. It is charging but will not let me vape. Quite frustrated. LED light gets a little warm while charging since it stays on solid. Is this ok to charge? I really like this. I received mine from Fasttech also.

yah, everything else works fine, but i guess they took out passthrough due to safety reasons... :/
