Ego Vic recommended 5.2w

It would seem that no matter the resistance of the atomizer my ego-V always recomends 5.2w. Any body know why? Software is fully updated.

Is there any way to calculate the watts that are best with different resistance of atomizer?

mine does the exact same thing. i keep mine around 8.0-9.0W, depending on the resistance of the atty. i prefer to vape around 4.2v, but using the wattage to control that will lengthen your battery life a little bit.

edit: I'm using a low resistance atomizer. 1.9 ohm's.

I'd say use variable wattage mode instead, start at 4 watts and work your way up and dial in. I know all VG juices in my experience prefer lower, about 6 watts max. It's safe to go up to 8.5 watts, higher than that and you risk popping out your coil, unless you are using dual coils.

I think you meant the Joyetech Evic. The recommended watts of 5.2 is a set recommendation that you can edit in the MVR software you install on the computer. I always use watts to finely tune my voltage. I usually vape at 8.0-8.5 watts with any ohms.

volts squared divided by ohms equals wattage.

ImThatGuy: Gotcha. It doesn't actually have a recomendation based on the atomizer it detects. Maybe the detection of the resistance is only for VW?

Foreversummer: If I remember correctly the lowest Watts it allows is 6W.

The reason that it doesn't change the power recommendation (5.2W) depending on atomizer, is that in the variable wattage setting, it calculates the necessary voltage level based on the resistance for you. So if I set it at 5.2W and put a 1.5ohm carto on it, it will fire at 5.2W, by producing whatever voltage the resistance of the carto requires to produce a 5.2W current. If I change the carto, but leave the setting at 5.2W, it will change the resistance to work with that carto.

Ok so this opens up another question for me. Ive noticed the VV,VW, MVR VV, and MVR VW. I cant find anything about those in the manuel. I'm assuming they are Variable Voltage, Variable Watts, Some how auto calculates Variable Voltage, and Some how auto calculates Variable Watts.

I've tried using the MVR VW and while I get no buring taste, and it seems to auto calculate based on my atty, I also get very little vapor or taste. What am I missing here? Using a Vivi Nova tank with the 2.8 atty.

I have an eVic and it definitely allows below 6, I can go down to 4, but that's dependent on your resistance. MVR is a customizable pattern where watt/voltage changes over time, configured through the computer. The default is set to 3 volts or 5.2 watts. In my opinion it really has no use. MVR has it's own manual on the joyetech site.
