eGo VV3 Mega / Protank3 Issues - OHMS shooting up immediately

I lost my old account info, and it's not letting me post in tech forum... been a while.

As I mentioned, I have the VV3, about 3 weeks old, and a protank3 that's about 5 months old. Putting kangertech dual coils in - start at 2.1 OHMs.

Within about 15 minutes, I can taste a difference in the vapor amount, and the ohms start shooting upwards, from 2.1 to 2.4 within about 15 vapes. further use obviously makes it go higher, my record (after about 4 hours and upping the wattage to obscene levels) is 5.4 ohms, with minimum vapor production. I normally stay about 8.5W.

All this occurs within a few hours at most.

Little bit of backstory - the guy at the shop mistakenly gave me protank 2 coils, which had the same issue, which I got replaced for free - because they assumed that the 2's were what was causing the issue. Now, I think it might be something wrong with my brand new battery, from the same shop.

One other tidbit of information, which may or may not be relevant - when I am using the VV as a passthrough, hooked to USB on computer, it almost feels like a slight electrical charge might be running through to the mouthpiece - but I'm not sure.

It hasn't been dropped.

The contact on the battery moves up and down about 1/8" when pressed, and springs back - not sure if this is a feature on this battery, because my iTasts VV didn't do this. not sure if this may be a symptom/cause.

Anyone have any thoughts? It's cheaper for me to smoke (cough) than continue burning through coils every 4 hours.

Help?

New "symptom"

Juice clouds up once the ohms get above 4.

I don't have another ego fitting to try it on.

Coil is tight, and tank is screwed on tight... tried moving the base (pin?) of the coil by pulling on the bottom, just enough to move it out a hair, but it pushed back to initial position once I screw it on. Also removed the O-ring on the coil itself to try and get a hair more clearance towards the battery (doesn't leak).

Gave the tank a good cleaning, complete with dust free paper towels, wiped everything down.

New World Record! 5.6 ohms as I write this.

...........

Update:
***Using my Itaste VV as a passthrough (only way it holds a charge) and seeing if the ohms go up again. If they don't, I assume it HAS to be a battery issue?***

Anyone else got anything else I can try before going down to the store and raising hell?

I have and love the VV3 Mega. I was having the same problem with a Vivi Nova starting from the moment I replaced the coil the first time and I finally just retired it! It was also getting vapor inside the tank when this started happening. I'm pretty sure there's a grounding problem internally with the tank (which would totally explain your weird resistance readings). Most likely culprit would be the rubber grommet that the coil leads are supposed to be insulated from the tank body by. Try an entirely different tank. Those rediculously high resistance readings would work your VV3 to death and explain the shortened battery life.

The topper shouldnt be screwed on tight, just snug just so it doesnt wobble is sufficient.
Too tight could compress the +/- insulator in the power devices 510 connection, which can cause problems.
I'd try thoroughly cleaning the vv3 510 connector, scrub it well with q tips tissues & rubbing alcohol.

Could be the insulators on a 5 month old prostank have gone bad, or, you're missing one of the insulating o rings causing your problem.

If you don't have a back up delivery or power device so you can test the topper on another power source and test the vv3 with another topper you're kinda stuck ATM.
If your shop is open my first move would be trying a new topper of some sort.

I've had the tank on my Itaste VV for the last few hours - no increase in ohms...

If the tank/coil are working fine on the old battery, then it must be the VV3 giving me the issues.... Any at home stuff I can do to it to try and get it going, or is it straight busted? cleaning, assembly, etc.? Or is it just shot?

Not thrilled about having to get a new bat after 3 weeks... I get the feeling someones going to get an ear full.

Like i mentioned in a previous post, You could try thouroughly cleaning the 510 connection of the vv3 with q tips, tissues & rubbing alcohol, dry when finished.
Check to make sure the insulator in the 510 connector between the center pin (+) & the rest of the well/connection (-) is in place.

Sounds like you might have smashed/depressed the vv3s center pin by over tightening the topper or installing one with a slighlty too long center tube. You can try to very gently pull/pry up the center pin slightly. (Small upward movement)

Until you try another delivery device on the vv3 it's hard to come to the conclusion the vv3 is at fault.

Insulator is in place, and cleaned VV3 well.
center pin is definitely making contact, confirmed by pulling pin on atomizer out a hair (1/32-1/16) and unscrewing tank to see that pin is back in place at bottom.

Not sure how the tank's tube could be too long - its made for a 510 connection, therefore it should work in one without damaging one, correct?
