Hello guys, first off let me say that I love this site, the amount of information on here is overwhelming for a newb to vaping like me...

ok, so here is my question, I got an ego started kit, and it was alright with the stock juices and cart, but I just got a drip tip in the mail and some bubbas bounty from AVE and I am in love...

the thing is when I take the cover off of my ego I here a whistle, like air going into the atomizer, I think it produces more vapor but less taste... but when I put the cover on I hear absolutely no wistle, and I have to suck harder to get a hit, but the hit is way more flavorful.

is this normal? when I was using the stock carts I heard the wistle with and without the cover its only since I put the drip tip on that it changed...

so what do u guys think??:blush::evil:

I used my Ego , for dripping as well , and when I found it was drawing too hard , I tried a little experiment . I drilled , a very small hole , in the side , of the cone , to let more air in . Solved my issues . But , do so At your own risk . You could mess up a 3.00 cone . And if it seemed , I was getting too much air , I just placed , one of my fingers , over the hole . But my wife uses the Ego now . So not really an issue for me anymore . ( But She's happy with it )

For me, the cone is cool cosmetically (looks nicer) and also serves as a drip catcher when I miss with the dropper (need stronger glasses). Works fine either way since I always have tissues handy. I use drip-tips 'cause they feel better to suck on, but I remove them to drip.

My guess is you're using a "Ming" or similar drip-tip with a big, bulbous belly. This is making contact with the top of the cone, restricting the airflow and causing your whistle. A narrower (possibly less cool-looking?) tip will likely solve your problem. I can't draw on my ego at all if I jam a Ming down into a "coned" atty.

@ Jslay

I'm using a delrin drip tip and thats exactly what it is... it makes such a good seal at the top of the cone that it lets almost no air thru... what I did was use a pair of needle nose pliers... stick those into the cone and I pried it open a bit! Now I get more airflow.. but not as much air as the evo without the cone... me=happy! =-)

Sounds like (been mentioned a couple of times) your drip tip is not sealing well. Trade it out and see if the draw is any different. Take one of your cartridges and remove the filler then pop it on instead of the drip tip. Does it vape any better? If it's better, then your drip tip is not fitting tightly enough. It (the dt) should be a tight fit.

And jslay00 is right....if you're using a drip tip from Cherry Vapes, it's cutting off the air flow around the top of the cone (which is necessary) so you'll either need to change out the DT, or remove the cone.
