eGo xl - vapes great, tastes horrible. What Can I do?

Just got the ego xl and the atomizers taste horrible.

510 eGo XL Kit with Carrying Case

I blew out the primer, added more liquid and have been vaping them all day without inhaling. They still taste very bad and aren't getting better. Its like a perfumey, chemically taste. I have been using this method to get the taste flushed out with no success:

I also tried to use other 510 atomizers, that are over 2 ohms, and it does not activate them. Do these batteries only work with a certain type of atomizer? I am upset because the ego works great and I am getting a ton of vapor, but the taste is very bad.

I have not let them get dry, they have been nice and wet the whole time with liquid that I have been using with my usb pass through. I have been careful to not let it get too hot as well.

perfumey and chemically sounds like it may be you juice. Oily or metallic wound make me think it'd be primer you missed. Maybe steeping your juice (possibly with the top off) would help.

Try a different ejuice. Perfume taste ejuice needs to steep for a while.

I have been using honey flue cured and cherry pipe tobacco from liquidxpress. I have also been using gummy bears from got vapes. I have been using all of these with other devices without many issues. With the eGo, they all have the same bad taste. If you flood the atomizer, it's not as bad but after a min. it comes through strong. This will happen while there is still a slight gurgle when inhaling, so it's not dry. It also comes through with the tobacco prefilled cartridges that came with it.

Somebody in the comments there have a problem similar to your one of atomizers not getting electrical contact
"This is a good Ego XL kit. Batteries last a VERY long time. Great price too. Now for the but.... The center contact for the batteries like to be picky about which atomizers and cartomizers they will work with. The workaround is that I keep having to pull the center contact up a smidge to get things working again. I've read that the rubber grommet holding it up is a bit weak. Other than that, it's a great kit!"

See if Madvapes will exchange your battery - do both batteries have the contact problem? I see it is not Joye - it's Smoketech. I would complain about the battery pole not contacting many 510 atomizers. That's just not right when you buy something 510 threaded. Do you have any Joye atomizers that won't contact the pole? That would be totally unacceptable.

So i have plugged the atomizer with the rubber piece (condom I guess) and filled with liquid to the bridge. I assume this is what you mean by steeping. How long do I let it sit? Should I have cleaned it out first?

As far as I can tell, only the atomizers that came with it work.

The only thing that should be against the bridge of the atty is filler....nothing plastic.....Steeping means to take the bottle of juice and open it, place the bottle in dark, cool place for a couple of days.
I would contact the vendor you bought from and send this kit back and start over.

Okay, so I've been able to mess with it a bit more. They are tasting much better now and I have been able to get other atomizers to work if I screw them on really tight. If I drip with these it doesn't taste very good if it's not really wet. The same goes with the cartridges. If you no longer hear any gurgling at all, they start to taste like that again. I only have one cartomizer that will not activate, but the others, including the fluxomizer, will activate if screwed on tightly.
