I love LR's...wont even use standard volatage attys anymore. Just not the same.
However you have to be more careful with them, make sure they dont go dry and pop on you. They also seem to use up more juice.

I don't understand that. Why does everyone say to keep them wet? I've done dry burns on all my attys to clean them and never popped one. Nichrome is designed to get red hot, after all it's the same thing thats in a toaster.

Homeish now
Toasters are made to carry 230 plus volts....LR's carries 1.5-2.5v's
besides go look at how thick your toaster wires are...that isnt in a atty.
Might be the same raw material as toasters but we arent talking about the same thing.

The whole Dry burn to clean, has been debated back and forth. Some swear by it others would never do it. I've tried it with regs, not really seeing a benefit.
I'm sure there is some fabulously long technical answer...but IDK that one.

I do know, that with LR's is they they will get a nasty burnt taste much quicker regulars...and they will make popping and crackling noises if they get to hot and dont have enough juice. After so many pops...they dont work anymore. I can only assume the Pops are the little wires breaking from getting to hot.

The problem is not Nichrome brandon. It is the higher wattage the coil gets. The coil runs hot way faster than a standard atty coil. Hence the need to keep the atties wet (cooler).

OP

The eGo is very nice with both the standard 510 (joye) atty and with the LR atty. The wideband ones are sailebao atties that have higher resistance and really are good for HV vaping (but HV atties are recommended).

Also you might wanna check the new eGo atomizer. It runs proprietary on the eGo and are really new. They will work with the new eGo carts. Now , these are named by Joye eGo atomizers and carts so they are not confused with the standard Joye 510 atties and carts. Joye also delivered a new eGo cartomizer.

So..to sum it up: if you want a normal 510 vape, use components from an eGo and/or 510 "normal" kits. If you want to experience something very similar to heavy voltage vaping , get a LR atomizer. If you wanna MEGA capacity the new eGo attys , carts and cartomizers are a treat.

I’m a little confused about the best way to go for an atomizer for my ego. There is a LR atty, wide band atty and cylinder mega atty. Of the three which one is best for the ego? Are any of these really a step up? Thanks!

1- my favorite setup - a drip tip from SuperT Super T Manufacturing, Innovative manufacturer of electronic cigarette products. and the LR atty.

2. drip tip from SuperT on reg 510 atty.

If I ever go back to to atty/cartridge I would try the new mega atomizer.

The new eGo mega atomizer (top pic) product name has caused much confusion. see attachment. All these items are interchangeable.

Glad you posted this. I bough a wide band for my ego, and absolutely hate it. I set it aside thinking I`d save if it ever desperation set in. I now have a 5V Tekk, and hadn`t thought to give it a try on it.

In my experience, the LR 1.5 atty and the LR 1.6-1.7 cartomizer give the best vapor and hold flavor well compared to running the same attys/cartos on a true 3.7V mod which then the flavor is substantially diminished.

That said, I'm digging the mega eGo cartoz and atty/cart combo. The vapor is virtually the same as an eGo with a regular 510 - the mega eGo atty is running 2.1 ohm (metered) and the cartoz is running 2.3-2.5 (metered) - so same vapor, a bit more flavor but the operative 'plus' is that they both can vape for 5 hours. If I'm at home, I'm on the LRs and still 'trying out' the mega Cart(o). Out and about, I'm taking the giants with me ;-)

The wide band is just another great 2.1 ohm 510 atty and the only possible difference is in the heat sink aspect. Since the cone helps warm the air anyway, it might be a bit much for the eGo although I haven't tried that combo yet. On regular mega 280mAh skinny batts, and on the Bartlebys and the Protege, the TW Titan/Joye wide band, along with heaven gifts narrow band Joyes are some of my best performers.
