I have just purchased a copper EhPro Caravela With no logos or anything on it and it came with the floating pin in the top already. It also came with an extra white plastic piece, 3 different size screw positive pins and an extra switch spring.

My trident 2 will not for flush with the floating pin so I attempted to put one of the screw in pins in.

After er much frustration and cutting up the floating pin, I cannot seem to make the white insulator piece budge from the threaded cap.

Does se anybody have any tips on how to go about this? Anybody have the same or similar issue? I know it's a rather isolated problem but it's worth a shot.

There are a few variations with the basic EhPro design. Although all the top caps I've seen are threaded from end to end, some top cap insulators will be threaded, while others will be a "snap-in" fit.

EhPro floating pins tend to be slightly tapered, or will have a small lip or step on the end that can cause them to bind in the insulator. This may be a consistent machining error, or intentional... I don't know.
If you don't have the reams required to up-size the insulator .0005"~.001" to allow more clearance, then you just have to wait for the insulator to "break-in" a little.

I've been looking on the web without luck so I figure I would ask here as others have probably needed this too. Does anyone know where I can get replacement insulators for the 510 on a Caravela clone? I'm guessing I could take a piece of plastic and tread it to 7mm, and then tap it too 4mm, but... rather buy a premade than buy the plastic, tap and dies to do this.
