So I just got the dual air hole kayfun by Ehpro. This is very well made!! Anyway, I was drilling out the center pin to 5/64 and the bit broke off inside. Against my better judgement I borrowed a drill bit from a guy at work who said they were good bits…I should have waited until I got home to use my bits. Oh well, that is why I bought the clone as opposed to messing with my authentic ones. Anyway, after looking around I have found out that the head on the center pin is slightly longer than the authentic ones and other clones, so if I use those the head would be recessed and would not make contact. So, where can I find the Ehpro center pins? My google-fu is weak and I can't find them. Help!!

If you can't find a replacement - Get a pin punch, and tap the bit out the way it came in, or... get a smaller, left-handed (better quality) drill bit, and use it to 'unscrew' the broken bit from the screw... in a reversible, variable speed drill.

Pin punch won't work because the hole he's talking about isn't a through-hole. Also, the broken bit is only 5/64, so a smaller bit might work, but that's going to be pretty tough.

The main air hole is not a thru hole but The center pin hole can be accessed on both sides.

Not on the KFL+ it can't. The bottom of the center pin is a flat head bolt that serves as the positive terminal of the 510 connector. The airhole goes down the center pin about 3/4, and then there's a hole in the side for the air to flow through. You can't get through the other side without drilling out that bolt.

Here's a picture:

No through hole. By the way, that picture is one that was drilled out. The side airhole isn't usually so big.

I thought he was talking about the hole you are describing as the one you drilled out? Maybe I read it wrong but I thought the bit broke off in the center pin hole. If I am wrong then are you saying he tried drilling up the lenght of the pin?

Yes, exactly, he tried to drill out the length of the pin, which is 1/16" stock, but not a through hole. That's a tough one. I think he's going to have to get a new pin, but he said that the replacement pins are too short. :(

Doesn't make sense that a bit would break off trying to drill a hollow tube?

I guess when the bit reached the bottom 2 holes,it caught some burr on the inside of the holes and broke.

That's what i felt when drilling mine, same goes to the base hole as the bit passed the setscrew hole.

Exactly what happened. I contacted the seller and told them is was my screw up and I was looking to buy another one. They said they would just send me one!!:D
Next time I am going to use my good drill bits to avoid this problem.

If your going to try drilling this again, get some of this Tap Magic Cutting Fluid EP-Extra 4oz I use it all day at work and at home for machining metal, best cutting fluid I have ever seen. Used it to drill out Magma 510 pins to make the bottom feeders, did 10 S.S. screws at #54 and the drill bit was still like new. :)

I have some Slip2000 I use for firearms. I'll probably just use that. Thanks for the link though!!
