Ekowool burnt taste

I'm taking a shot with Ekowool for the first time on my Trident for the first time and I'm not having much luck with it.

What would cause a bad burnt taste with it?

I lightly touched the ekowool twice and then used a 2/3 wrap. First wrapped the coil on a drill bit and then threaded the ekowool through it.

a hot leg on the coil, the coil not making good contact with wick, coil to tight on the wick, dry wick

Yeah, it was a rookie mistake. I pulsed it a little longer than I did before and caught a hot spot that I initially missed.

Lesson learned, I need to be more observant before jumping the gun.
