Ekowool - how to prepare it for use

Hello Everybody,


I had a few questions about Ekowool.

1) What is the best way to prerpare it to be used?

2) Should I torch it or boil it?

3) If torching, how long?

4) If boiling, how long

I am assuming this would be done if I was using silica.

I just run a torch on it as it is really just expensive silica (I personally did not like it and went back to regular silica)

I have heard of boiling it, I personally don't. I torch mine, basically till it glows. After that I wrap it then torch it again. For some reason if I don't torch it after I wrap it tastes really bad. I haven't had the bad taste after I torched it twice.

Well I prepare Ekowool by wrapping a coil around it

I haven't had any problems with a manufacturing taste or anything. It's not like cotton.
