I didn't take the liner apart. It was fairly clean lookin so if it has 2 layers I guess I put them both back in.

If the Mistress of the coils bows to you, you can imagine how flabbergasted the rest of us are!

That's a big compliment comin from the Mistress :) but it's easy to build. I'm glad you made the video, I might not ever have pulled one apart cause of the pressed cap, but it comes off and on easy. I bent the crap out of the first one :) I just built another one at .8 ohm and vapin at 12w (only 3v). It's a cooler vape but tastes really flavorful and still produces a gooood cloud at low watts. I like this :)

the first top I pulled off looked like a drunken monkey took a hammer to it.
As long as it's screwed into some stable base, it's pretty easy to get off.
And I figure if the cap starts to "stretch" and get a little loose I can just bend it a bit at the bottom to tighten it up.

C'mon guys...I'm no mistress of coils! I'm just a visual person...if I see it, generally I can do it. My rebuilding of coils comes from necessity. I love vaping but my pocketbook doesn't like the added expense so any way I can reduce the bill I'll try at least once. That's what kinda pmo about bvc's and nautiluses. I love my mini nauti but can't afford coils for it and can't rebuild the danged things either! :(

+1 on the above...I'd love to see a twisted coil go in too!

All I got is 28g and there wouldn't be room in there for a twist or I'd try it. I might try doin a dual coil though. I'm getting very good flavor with the single though. I put the liner in the cap, wet it and make sure no wick material is stickin outside the coil base and it goes on easy. I can't get over how well it keeps up wicking even at 20+ watts. Gonna get some Tampon de Gaze and see how that works:)

I thought about wetting the liner to make it stick, but I do a recoil about once a week and wasn't sure about having them sitting.
If you do a dual coil (not sure if it would be an improvement on what you have achieved) I would love to see that in pics at least!
Again, if you would like some Tampon de Gaze, I'll be more than happy to send some to you.

I tried to upload pics but it failed. I don't know why it's so hard to upload pics from my camera to this forum. It's easy on ebay. Thanks for the offer :)

Yea! :toast: I'm hoping someone comes up with a "trick" or something for the liner wrap...there must be some way that is easy.
It's not a deal breaker, I just haven't got the light bulb to come on over my head and go "Eureka!" (of course, it burned out long ago)
I was surprised that turning these into larger protank coils would perform so well, but they do.

That may be why I love the X.l coils, the lack of liner. Rather I build them single or dual coil. It took a little practice to learn what it took to prevent flooding, but once mastered they are a tootle puffers cat's meow. I still look forward to playing with these airs, My egrips (a co-op buy well after the GS order) are gonna be here before them, the china boat with my GSs must have sank in the pacific. :)

Could you point me to the X.I you're talking about, now I'm curious.
