I have a 5-pack of coils, but no tank... Don't ask.

I'm sure there is a way to open them--that top part is usually press fitted. The only question is how much brute force is required to pry it off the coil head body.

Yeah, I'm going to have to save this for a weekend project, then take it out into the old "girl cave" and start brainstorming what tools I can use to gently pry or lever the body off.

Yikes, coils but no tank! I won't ask, but hope you get it today. :)

I just want to thank Javamon and everyone else in this thread for providing info about the GS Air. I have been reading this thread everyday from the start, but just started posting last night.

I have a Nautilus Mini that I've invested about $45 in.....Bought at B&M for $35 and ordered a hollowed out tank for $10. I tried the GS Air because of the recommendations here, and because it was only $9 online.....It is better than my Mini. I could have bought 5 GS Airs for the cost of my Mini, and if I could go back in time, I would have done just that!

Welcome, jefx. I know the feeling. I bought a Kanger subtank that I absolutely hate, no matter how much I fiddled with it. I also wish I'd bought several GS Airs instead.

Thanks for the welcome Linda. That sucks to hear about your subtank.... A Subtank Mini is next on my wishlist. I wanted to experiment with the RBA deck that comes with it, but I like the ability to use prebuilt coils as well.

jefx, that's originally why I bought a subtank, to do my own builds. But if you're a mouth to lung hitter, you may not like the subtank. Even with the airflow down to minimum, it felt like the air was being forced into my lungs. And at that setting, it was like getting juice in my mouth. Not a good taste. If you're a lung hitter, you'll probably like it.

Hold on. There's hope. Looky here:

Hey, hey ... for those following my sub-tank blog. I've come up w/ the "Toothpick Mod' and the tank and I are now getting along.

The sub-tank head has 4 LARGE air passages. For me trying to throttle down the air flow - this was the root cause.

So I took a toothpick and ran it through 2 opposing holes. Caution: Look for 2 holes that are not obstructed with any of the coil legs that might get messed up when inserting the toothpick.

Then cut the toothpick off flush with the bottom of the head on both sides. I mean flush, as close as you can, so it does not interfere when inserting the head into the bottom section.

So here's a shot of taking an easy single mouth to lung draw and exhaling. The air ring is set to the 1 hole exposed position. I can live with this. An easy double pull is even better.

This is with a DIY 1.8Ω coil with 30g Kanthal (2.5mm id) in a standard head w/ KGD wick. Vaping on an iStick at 3.7 volts (and we all know the iStick runs hotter than set - so probably closer to 4 volts. I actually like it. May have to get a Kanger Nano sub tank now which would be a better fit size wise on the small iStick.

(sorry Legs, who needs a DNA40 for a decent vape - not me. But yepper I'd still like a DNA40 :D)

Thank you, Katya! Going to grab a toothpick and try it out. I hope it works since I have the Subtank and the Subtank mini. I haven't even opened the Subtank. Going to see if I can return it.

Ok. I just tried it. Nope, I still hate it. I even have the airflow turned so that the smallest air hole is mostly closed. I think part of it is the taste of the coil. There just isn't anything I like about this tank. The GS Air is so much better.

Just posted this to another thread before i saw this underneath it. GS AIR-MS. When and where can i get it? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pw2iU-W6SYI

I'm actually 95% confident that is the Eleaf MELO sub ohm tank. I'm guessing that's what the "MS" designates. Looks exactly like this:

MELO Atomizer

Sweet Vapes and VapeNW are listing them but not in stock, or as pre order items. No idea when they will be available.

I'm just a messenger... Haven't tried this method myself...

Just sayin. ;)

Good luck!

OK......I'm totally confused. I don't see a difference in their advertising for m or ms? Is one tank larger capacity than the other? And why a tank with such similarities to GS Air?

And then, the MELO looks a lot like it, but will be with the sub ohm coils at .5 ohm. Not disputing they probably are different but boy they look alike. And why don't these atomizers show on the Eleaf website?

I can't keep up with China. LOL

Your are so right Bored ---- they look identical.

I'm guessing the M and MS got nixed and they went straight to the Memo.:(

The only difference I noticed between M and MS is the MS is Short and "fat". Exactly what I've been wanting and NOT sub-ohm.

I like Memo!
