So, as long as you use the correct metal for making the coil, any head can become TC?
If you try it with nickel make sure you get tempered nickel. The stuff is soft and would be a pain in the little coils. Titanium might be easier, I haven't tried it but I'm orderin some.

I already have the tempered nickel. :)

I still think it comes out as to how the heads are built though so I'm going to agree to disagree. I've read that a lot of folks are saying the SubTanks with the occ coils say they don't work very well so I asked a friend who has a fancy TC mod about this. He rebuilt one of his ST OCC coils and tried it and said it worked great. And I trust his opinion.
I think they are using gold plated pins in some of them to increase the conductivity so they will work better. You may have a problem with steel pins

I'm hoping to be able to use my ST Mini on both of the TC mods I'll have. Even if it means having to order a pack of the stock Ni OCC coils and then rebuilding them myself.

I don't get any flavor difference in TC but it does give an even consistent vape. A good hit every time without heating up when you fire longer. I haven't tries Ti wire yet but some say they get a much better vape.

It also solves the reverse. My builds generally don't get to my preferred temperature until 3-4 seconds into my normal 6-8 sec pull. Of course, a good preheat mode, like YiHi's "powerful" setting, does the same thing. Where TC excels is maintaining the preferred temperature with different air flow/draws, ambient temperatures, etc. Unfortunately, TC is still a bit too finicky currently for the average vaper and not appropriate for noobs.

I have a Mini but haven't used it with TC yet. I've heard some have problems and some say they're great. Personally I don't see why it wouldn't work. Some people are like

My SX M gets to temp within a couple of seconds with nickel. .086 ohm 18j and 420

I will eventually get around to rebuilding clearo heads with NI200 or Ti. I don't think it's impossible. Aspire and Joyetech seem to do a much better job than Kanger. Kanger's design just doesn't seem to lend itself to TC with a mass produced head. Regardless of if it's possible or not, the style of lead termination is not "ideal" to obtain the solid resistances needed for TC.

Rebuilding the OCC heads are no more difficult than rebuilding any other coil head . To me that is...
I just think you can get a better connection with the RBA head but the occ heads are easy to build too. TC operates on very small changes in resistance so the tighter the better. :)
