Yup... single vertical coil with GOBS of cotton wick. I've rebuilt about twenty of the new coils, now. It's a bit of a PITA compared to the 1.5 coils, but I much prefer them. Taste is subjective, though, so get a pack of each and use them with the same juice and at similar wattage settings, as to have a bit of a comparison baseline.
Impressive that you've rebuilt the new verticals! Kanthal and organic cotton? Flavor better than the originals?

Stick an old clearo on it if you have one...makes it easier to sell...:)
Never really cared for the 50 watt. I'm 5'5", weigh 140 lbs, and have what others have categorized as little girl hands. They were just a bit too bulky for my little paws. Not terribly pocket friendly, either. Tons of battery life, though.

They're not so much difficult to rebuild as they are a pain in the neck. That said, I prefer the larger juice channels and the vertical coils.

For wicking, I use organic cotton (some Koh Gen Do that I got as a free sample, for the time being) and don't really notice any difference in flavor. I usually rebuild around 1.0 ohms, though, so the coil performance in my rebuilds are ever so SLIGHTLY higher than in a stock coil.

Keep in mind that I'm a direct to lung inhaler about 2/3 of the time and tend to run these at a high-ish (for these coils, anyhow) 20-30 watts... so I do see a bit of a performance increase, particularly if I build at the 0.9 ohms that I'm kind of digging right now. Anyone tootle puffing at 15 watts or less probably wouldn't see a bit of performance difference between a stock 1.2 ohm coil and one of my 0.9 ohm rebuilds.

I vape NET liquids that tend to slaughter coils and wicks, so my big motivation is the savings. I can purchase the coils for something like $1.75 each on FT, or I can rebuild them for about 15% of that. Done in an assembly line fashion, maybe three or four at a time, it goes pretty efficiently.

Rats, they are out of the 1.5 GS Ismoka Eleaf coils.
Whose they? I bought the last pack of 1.5s from Rocky Mountain vapor unless they have more in. I thought sweet-Vapes had some the other night. I have a feeling Eleaf is discontinuing them now that they have the 1.2 ohm vert coils out.

Ode to ismoka

I dreamt of spelling vape't
because I'd dreamt that's how it's spelt.
I'd leapt to that conclusion
from the spot where I had knelt.
My hopes and coils were burnt, you see
when eleaf spoilt my reverie.
With e-juice spilt, my lesson's learnt;
I really wish it weren't.
