Started to get some dry hits off the rebuild I did so I redid it a 6 or 7 times and determined I had to much wick in the coil. Less is better for cotton in the coil, anyone else attempting to rebuild make sure the cotton can slide easily in the coil. Vaped a tank of juice and not 1 dry hit on this build at 1.4 ohms :)

Good for you!
Cotton swells, rayon doesn't.
Did you rinse and reuse the liner?

On the subject of rebuilding these coils, has anyone been able to build a vertical coil in one?
I've tried with limited success. Don't know if it would be any better.

I tried to keep the liner but tossed it after 2 tries. I pulled apart the Japanese cotton pad to make it thinner and used that for the liner. On my 2nd tank chain vaping so far so good :) , New to rebuilding so I have not tried a vertical coil yet.

My favorite cartomizers are Boge and Smoktech. Boges are a little tricky to fill properly the first time because they are very densely woven, but once you get one going, it's a very nice vape. Smokech cartos are also very good and easier to fill. Ikenvape cartos are made by Bogetech (to Isaac's specifications) and are very good indeed--or they were back then when I was using them.

Thanx for your carto thoughts...

I have heard about Boge's being more dense...but when I've tried them I didn't notice any "trickiness" in filling since I use my good ol' handy-dandy IBTanked Thingy to prime all my cartos.

Not to steal Mud's thunder, if you are interested in the liner material I found that works perfectly, just PM your address and I will send some out.
That offer is extended to anyone rebuilding GS Air's.

You a good man Cheech, I don't care what Kat sez about ya ;)

Being and old cotton fan, I have to say Rayon has it beat by miles!

And this is why I don't rebuild. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much frustration for me.

I looked at the replacement coils for the GS Air on fasttech and the top silicon gasket is recessed
unlike the ones I have and looked at on various sites. Does this mean anything?
It kills me to think of these coils getting tossed instead of rebuilt...I'm such a cheapskate!

It's the old saw about hard work being more rewarding than something handed to you and of
course the feeling of accomplishment!

Were gonna talk you into trying it soon as we catch you in a weak moment ;)

Or her pocketbook will!:p

I'm more with your first statement because based on the savings I am incurring I could just toss the dang things and still be way ahead. That said I have yet to find a manufacturer using rayon wicking PLUS the first time I successfully rebuilt one of those tiny little coils out of my X.Is I was on top of the world! :)
