I went haywire with the Nautilus Mini's. At the time, I thought I finally found a tank that had no fuss. A short time after, Aspire changed the coils and as fast as I spent a fortune and fell in love, that was the end of that romance. The GS Air M tastes so much better than the Nauti mini (in my opinion) and it very rarely gurgles unless you're in some really bad humidity, but I just shake the tank out a little and it's good to go after that. You can get a semi-tight draw (in which I really liked too with the nauti') but once you try the 'Air M, I think you acquire a liking to the airier draw. I guess that's why they call it an air? Hope this helps David. :)

Good afternoon Airheads. Whew!! 5 pages? View attachment 469865
It does, thanks! I am going to order a GS Air when I get back from my mini-vacation, I will look at the M too. I've read several posts about folks not liking the change from the Nautilus ceramic wick coils to cotton, but also read the fears about the ceramic fibers getting lose, saw a youtube video on disassembly, and that concerned me seeing that mess. So all I ever have used is the Mini with organic cotton, so I have no history to compare it too. I did find that changing the tip from a metal tip to an acrylic one got rid of that metallic taste I experienced (and apparently some do with metal tips, from my reading here), then changing my nic to about 18 mg from 24, and PG/VG to around 60/40 to 50/50, got me to liking the Naut minis. But your having done both, well I have to try that GS , thanks!

At first, I bought a GS Air and used it for maybe 3 weeks and then the M's came out. When I got the M, I never went back. I didn't care for the Air Control on the original GS Air because you may have to carry a mini screw driver around to operate it (it's a tiny screw in which you can turn it in or out to get the air flow... I could never get a happy medium so I had to carry a jewelers screw driver around). Some people have luck with it. When they find their sweet spot, they just leave it at the same setting.

lol... I saw your hammer comment in the other thread and that's all I can think of now.

Do you mean rebuilding the 1.2Ω heads or seeing if the top cap does/can pop off?
Since the Airs are going in this direction, I would like to take a shot at getting the cap off.
I think it's got an inner shell like the current tanks...hence, an outer shell.
I did destroy an Air coil trying to figure out how to get it apart, but I wouldn't stick with
a tank that couldn't be rebuilt! And damn it, I was gonna find out if it could.
Folks have joked that it looks like I took a good coil apart for the videos, I did, don't use them stock...wasteful huh?

Hey Chee. The top cap does look like a single piece to me from the pictures. I was hoping to see a line that would show that it was a press fit, but I don't see it. Hope you can pop it... :)
I do see the inner sleeve (I think - unless it is just the other side and a perspective illusion). Ya, I wish I had one in hand as well... lol...
It might be that the 1.5Ω coils are closer to a CLR head then the 1.2Ω are. If the top cap can't be popped (sure one could still rebuild it, but it would be like rebuilding the 1.5Ω coils without popping the top cap).
No, no... I understand why you rewick the stock 1.5Ω coils without using them. If Eleaf made a CLR or RBA that would be so nice... the ST Mini is a nice design, but for me it is 4x the price in Canada...
Cheers

The ST Mini RBA. I think though, I'm going to go a bit lower in ohms. :)
This is an 8 wrap spaced coil. The spaces don't need to be this wide, so I'm sure you can get 10 wraps and not have to cram the wick in too tight. This one is done on a 3mm pin so it would require a good piece of wick material. I would suggest trying a 10 wrap spaced 2.5mm with your 28g.( about .12 ohm) The Evic will fire at lower ohms but the sweet spot most are reporting is .12 to .16. Note how the legs are bent. with a 2.5 you wouldn't need to get the coil this low to clear the chimney and you'd use a more appropriate amount of wick:2c::2c:

Folks considering or have ordered the cotton coils might want to peek at this...he posted pics of the new coil broken down.

Thanks for that post. I found the review very informative and I guess I'll have to order more of the cotton!
