I knew that the 1.2 occ coils they would be a little low for the spinner so I ordered the 1.5 coils just like that came in the tank. The first one I tried working for an hour or so and then just started blinking and the same for the second one. The original fires fine though.

They're the real deal, then. Sweet-Vapes only carries authentic coils. I'd double check the resistance and make sure they didn't send you the 1.2 ohm coils by mistake. 1.2 ohms is a gnat's hair away from the low resistance threshold... somewhere in the 1.2-1.4 ohm range. If they sent the wrong one, that's a good explanation as to why it'd fire briefly, then stop. The box should have a tickmark checked on it for resistance. The coils are all labeled, too. Also, the 1.5 ohm coils say 8-20 watts, the 1.2 ohm say 8-30 watts on the side.

If they did send you the correct 1.5 coils, your spinner might be on the way out.

cj, these coils are so tiny, it might be kinda hard to do. Try putting one lead against the coil housing and the other on the positive pin sticking out the bottom. It might be easier if you first screw the coil into the base.

A couple of weeks ago, I had a coil suddenly start reading .3 ohms. It gave me the worst burnt hit I've ever had before I checked it. I still can't figure that one out. If one of the coils suddenly broke, you would think the ohms would have went up, not down.

I know where you're coming from with this! I had one that I rebuilt. I checked the ohms when I finish wrapping and installing. 1.3 like normal. Re wicked and re wrapped and put it in the cup. I put it in a tank and happily went off to work. Hit it at work and my hair curled!! Wow! That was the nastiest taste ever!! Looked at the display, .6! At 12W...yuck!! I guess the ohms changed after I wicked it. Now I check them when I'm finishedas well!

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I'm gonna double check the box and coils to make sure they sent me the right ones then if they did ill tear everything apart to find that dang multimeter to check my ohms lol.

Good luck, CJ. You might want to eventually get one of those little ohm meters they have at a lot of vape sites. Really easy to use. You just screw in your base and you get your ohms reading. They are indispensable if you start rebuilding your coils.

I definitely plan on getting one when I can afford it. And I definitely want to rebuild coils when I can. I just need to be able to afford the supplies first. [emoji14] but its on my list of stuff for the not too distant future.

How about that? Works like a champ. I used a pair of needle tip pliers, put them on the chimney sideways, and pried it off. Pretty easy. To pop it back on, I inseted the cap on one side and used a pair of pliers on the other to pop it in place. Holds fine. I imagine the cap and housing can survive a couple dozen rebuilds like this before the cap fits loosely. It'll make the wicking process easier, as the wick won't need to be packed tightly and crammed into the base. Still, the vertical coil will require installation twice if you want to test for hot spots... the coil still has to be wicked outside of the housing. Much easier, though... good find. I didn't see the seam to the cap at all. The new design makes a bit more sense than on the original GS Air coils and the larger juice channels certainly work better.

This pic is looking straight down the throat of the gutted coil housing. Tons of space... relatively speaking. Notice there'ss no wick material inside... that's how clean it came with me pulling the wick out with my bare fingers. Not bad.

Another way to put back the cap would be to drill a hole the same size as that chimney pipe. Put the cap upside down into the hole then press fit the housing into it.
As well, a traditional horizontal coil can be made too and should be easily aligned by using a long sewing needle through the juice ports and coil itself. That way, less guessing where the coil is at and we can be sure the wick ends are positioned towards juice ports.
If all this holds out with .7 - .8 ohm rebuilds, I will definitely get the M sized air as well the new GS Tank.

So I've got a quick questions about the coils. I've only got a vision spinner that I've been using since I haven't had a chance to upgrade it yet and the 1.5 ohm coil that came with it worked perfectly and its still working, just not quite as good as new.

But I tried swapping in a new coil from a 5 pack I got and it worked for about an hour then the fire button just started blinking whenever i would try to fire it.

I switched the original coil back in and its back to firing like normal so I try switching in another one of the coils from the pack and it just keeps flashing again. Anybody got any idea as to why it'd only be happening with the new coils?

Another thought on it... if the coils they sent are indeed the 1.5 ohm (which I suspect they are... SV is pretty good about order accuracy), it could be as simple as the cell in the spinner reaching the end of its life cycle. Insofar as I'm aware, the spinner doesn't have a proper low resistance cutoff... the battery simply can't output enough ampreage to accomodate lower resistance coils... and simply doesn't fire. If the cell has diminished some and its ampreage output capability has suffered, it simply might not have enough oomph to push a 1.5 ohm coil anymore... the 1.2-1.4 ohm operational limit of a fresh, brand new spinner is already pretty close to that threshold.

@Cheechako , I got the ultrasonic cleaner today. How long do you run yours and what do you put in the water?

Not Cheechako, but I do have an opinion...

Try adding a denture cleaning tablet to your water--it's also nice to soak the coils in that solution beforehand.

Don't waste good booze on cleaning coils--use 91% Isopropyl alcohol and just rinse thoroughly afterwards--for soaking only--do not use in the ultrasonic cleaner.

Oh, and one more thing--Congratulations!

Hey you tootle puffing GS Air fans I'm back from vacation and after reading all the fandom from you guys I'm ready to order a couple of GS air tanks, but reading through the threads for vendors to order from, now I'm nervous having not ordered before from the vendors I've seen listed, and reading about some folks having their credit card numbers stolen - so, who can I rely on that hasn't had an issue with stolen credit cards? Is Sweet-Vapes a safe supplier? I won't order from anywhere that doesn't have a brick and mortar or a US address at least. My usual suppliers don't carry the GS Air unfortunately. Thanks for your help

P.S. When I get mine, its gonna be GS Air 1.2 ohm organic cotton vertical coils vs. my Nautilus Mini 1.8 ohm organic cotton coils flavor vaping NET's showdown time
