Back from Wallyworld. The peaches didn't smell like peaches so didn't get any. No reduced for quick sell beef. Got a watermelon for 2.50 guaranteed. (savin the receipt) and bananas. Checked for vapemail and realized what day it is.
Went through the speedy 20 item or less express checkout lane.:) Shoulda stayed home or went swimming with the ducks.

It's a nice place. Got too hot just sitting, tide was in, so I walked over and swam a little. Some ducks kept me company. Left my istick on the village dock, which is about ten feet long and 2 1/2' wide.

How's the fishing? Walleye? Northern?

Any wild rice in the shallows?

Beautiful place, there.

Mostly brown trout, brook trout, pickeral and salmon....catch and release. Some bass.
Wild rice? This ain't Minnysoter!
It's tidal estuary, a few miles from the Atlantic, so whatever doesn't like salt water isn't here.

Bike wouldn't feel at home. No cottonmouths. No copperheads. No coral snakes. Not even rattlesnakes. (except during election season....but I digress)

It looked like bass territory but then they're all over :)

A lot of "sports" fishermen fight a fish too long or keep them out of water too long.. even wounded with a hook and they die slowly after being released from the traumatic experience. You can do it without harming the fish but not every time. I only do it if the fish doesn't meet regulations or if it's too small and not harmed. Mainly cause I love to eat em :) But I don't wanna just be havin fun if it means torturing an animal.

Well I gotta say I thought some of you folks were nuts when some of you were talking about liking a lot less airflow a ways back. Six days now with the GS tank and my thinking has changed a LOT. I thought I had to pull in enough air to fill a boxcar. Not so!! I got my Lemo 2 out yesterday and started playing with airflow and found new enjoyment with it. What the hey? I have always known that we should keep an open mind in so many things. I don't know why I was so hung up on lots of air.

I promise, I promise, I promise.........not to be so pig headed.

Thanks guys and gals

Maine Dep't of Inland Fisheries has some rules.. They make sense for the Atlantic salmon.
Saw a crab in the little river, the Dyer. And some freshwater (brackish water) clams.
You could keep those for your bass cataplana, Bike.

Guys do you prefer the new cotton 1.2ohm coils over the original 1.5 ohm?

I'm going to order a couple of these tanks and I'm wondering which ones to get for it.
I can't speak on the 1.5s. But I do like the 1.2s.

I'm all for fishin regulations where needed. Looks like a cataplana is gonna be out of my consideration for now since I ain't worked goin on 10 mos. I did find a used one on ebay for 70 and shippin. Maybe I'll check FT for a clone..:) I envy you bein around all that fresh seafood. I might have to make a trip to the gulf. :)

Used ones are ok unless the tinning is worn and the copper shows on the inside.
You might check Craig's List for places like Providence, RI or Fall River, Mass., with large Portuguese populations. I'll keep watch at the local thrift shops. Might find one for you.

Here's how far I have to walk for fresh seafood.

Yes, I'm lucky. Be careful what you wish for. In Feb. that meadow was under six feet of snow. Got to -25° F some nights.

Fair enough. It's nice this time of year.
