Maybe I just got a bad one, but put a brand new cotton coil in my GS-M. Let it sit for over 30 min, prime puffed several times, low-low-low-like 3.0 for the first try. Oh. My. Goodness. Gag. I have never, ever had a burnt hit like this - I may never get the taste out of my mouth. Please tell me to try a different coil, what I did wrong or somebody take these nasty cotton gag-meisters out of my house. I think I will have to make an emergency order from somewhere for the other coils.....nasty, nasty, nasty!! I've been loving this GS-M using the original 1.5 coil and this makes me sad. Obviously - LOL!
Sorry to hear it... burnt hits suck. Unfortunately, having a cotton wick, that coil is probably done for. Once they burn, it's over.
Use a pointy or needle tip bottle or syringe and put some juice directly in the central chimney of the coil... just a couple of drops at a time. I do a couple drops and rotate 90 degrees, then repeat until I've turned the coil all the way around. 8 drops total. The wicking in the juice channels should start darkening with juice from the inside-out, now. Then, install the coil into a full tank as normal, take about 5-10 good primer pulls WITHOUT firing the battery, having the air flow closed all the way. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes, and all should be good. Start it off low, like 8-10 watts for the first two draws. After that, you can open up the power to as high as 25-30 watts.
The new coils have really, really tightly packed cotton wicking... it takes alot to saturate them the first time. After that, you're golden.
