Full disclosure: The istick 50w was / is my first box mod. I have had it for almost three weeks now, and for the most part, I am enjoying it greatly. The wide wattage range (for me) provides the opportunity to partake in a variety of different tanks. The 4400mAh battery capacity is impressive, with 2 18650s magically crammed into a sleek, metallic box that fits comfortably in the palm of my hand. Moving the charging port from the bottom (circa iStick 30w and older) to the back was an intuitive update as well.
The only gripes I really have are as follows:
- It lags a bit when it comes to firing. It sometimes takes up to 0.7 - 1.0 seconds to fire from the time my finger depresses the button. This happens inconsistently and somewhat infrequently, but it's a bit of an annoyance all the same.
- It does not always maintain the wattage throughout the draw. There are times where it will fire as normal, then die off on me as I continue to inhale, then resume firing. This is perhaps my biggest gripe with the device.
Overall, I feel this is a very good mod for the price. I also think it's an excellent choice for people like myself -- those looking to make their first upgrade from a tube / stick (e.g. eGo Twist, Vision Spinner, etc.)
Note: I've been primarily been using the iStick 50w on my Kangertech Subtank Nano and Subtank Plus (have yet to rebuild, exclusively been using the stock OCC / 0.5 ohm coils -- which my iStick reads as 0.6 - 0.7ohms by the way).
