Hi guys. I've been having a problem with my istick 50w. Every now and then it cuts out and just shows protection on the screen. It doesn't say if it's temp, short etc. I'm using a subtank mini with the 0.5 ohm occ coils. I pulled one apart after a couple of days and the coil was all corroded but no real burning on the cotton. I'm firing it at 26w.

Thanks! Any help is greatly appreciated!

No, just don't "chain vape" as hard. Take a puff or 2, then set it down for a few. Then repeat. Plus 26w is pretty high for that coil. Try lowering it to 22 or 24 at the highest. Try more airflow too.
When the battery gets low it will get hotter as you vape too, so keep that in mind!

26w is high for a .5 ohm coil? That's like 3.6 volts at less than 7.5 amp draw.. That's nowhere near enough where you should be getting temp protection messages. I would say you have a problem.

There are reports of istick 50 having alot of quality control issues and malfunctions/failures when you're trying to draw over 10 amps. But at what you described, it's a faulty istick, and if not then the 50 is a massive failure.

I could chain vape for days on my istick 30 at 30watts on the same .5 coils.

Mine started firing to cuttoff and locking this week. now, it won't reset with a USB connection. It's going back today to the vape shop where I bought it for the $59.99 full retail price. I don't mind paying a little more if I can get warranty replacement locally over the counter. We'll see. I'm inside the 90 day period and retained the receipt.

Happened to mine to the point it just wouldn't fire it would just cut out every time I tried to fire

Just over 3 months old and my vendor was happy to replace it, but I have since moved up

But yes, worthy of a warranty replacement

I would often check the temp of my mod (5 clicks off then 10 clicks) and it never was above 40 so the person claiming the heat as the issue is just wrong

Note: mine first happened with my subtank mini but in the end it was all my attys

I've had my kanger subtank do this to me on my IPV2s and istick 50w before..
Never had any of my isticks do this protection error yet on any other tanks or drippers..

The kanger subtank only did it when i was using it in that kayfun style it has..Never with the stock coils..
I found the coil housing was loosening from the base when i would adjust airflow. Not even sure how i did that actually..
I must not have really had it tightened enough into the base..That's all i could think of..
