Hello guys. Well a couple of days ago i was vaping my kayfun clone on my Eleaf istick. I thought it was time to change the wicks since it started to get a burnt taste :/

Well said and done i picked the wicks out and dry burned the coils. Putted another new wick in and vaped away. Until the day after.. :( Suddenly it said "atomizer short" on my iStick.. I took the coil out, changed it to a new one. Still no success, even without any coil installed, it still says shorted..
I´ve tried pretty much everything, i took apart the whole kayfun (except the center pin, which refuses to budge). And cleaned everything, still no success :(

After i took the kayfun off the other time, the istick said "shorted" on my nautilus mini aswell, i pulled the center pin up a bit on Istick.. And the o-ring broke.. :(
Well i managed to take the o ring of a ego and it works fine, but still no success with the kayfun. And it really bothers me since i love that thing :( Was going to buy the nano kit aswell :(

Any help would me very appreciated.

Thanks

Sounds like the center pin issue that some encounter with the iStick 20W. Basically the center pin got depressed too hard.

There are several remedies throughout this thread: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/variable-voltage-apv-discussion/601111-eleaf-istick.html One option that might help is to purchase the Eleaf bending adapter that protects the 20W threads and gives you a spring-loaded 510 for about $5.

The best one would be to upgrade to the 30W with re-inforced 510 threads and a spring-loaded 510 center pin. I own 2 20W iSticks myself, but have upgraded to the 30W and just ordered a 50W.

Gotta go with jefsview (wow his named worked perfectly in this instance)

I also have 2 20W Isticks, one in which I would get that SHORT error when I used my KF on it. However the KF works fine on the other (where it now lives).

If you have the 20W version the threading wasn't the best. Combine that with the depress-able 510 and errors can occur. Certainly check the KF on another mod if ya got one.

If you have the disposable cash, the 30W version fixed all these issues.

Thanks alot for all the answers guys! :) Well the cash is not really "in hand" so to say.. :/
The decks on the KFL is not touching, I also removed the decks before and cleaned them.

And yes, ive noticed the threadings on this thing aint to good..Its a shame, got to try it on another mod i guess.
Is there any way to improve the center pin on the istick? Is there anything i can do to give it a better connection?

If your threads are still good then this is fix you can try, it involves unsoldering the wire from the 510 pin and replacing the stock grey insulator with the insulator from a Kangertech coil.

Or if your threads are stripped, I fixed mine with a FatDaddyVapes 510 V4 connector. The new connector is rather thick and requires a new top plate for the iStick. This is one I cut out of a piece of Lexan.

Others have put a #60 o-ring under the pin as a quicker fix without any disassembly of the iStick.
