Hey guys,
So previously I have had a kangertech mod paired with a smok tank and I didn’t like how large and loud that was. So I bought a sourin air and liked it except there was not enough smoke output for me and I was burning through the pods very quickly. So, i got an aspire breeze and the tank cracked. They don’t sell replacements, so I decided I wanted to look for a mini mod. I went to my local vape shop and ended up getting an eleaf istick tw40 and pairing it with the aspire nautilus 2 tank. I primed it and started on a low wattage and have changed the tank but it has always tasted burnt to me since my first hit. I have tried three different juices and they all taste the exact same out of my rig. I was wondering if anyone has tips or anything on whether it would be the mod or the tank causing these issues and if it is just the tank or the mod what other options would work best? Thank you!

I have and live several Aspire tanks, not N2, but an older Nautilus. My experience has been that there are some really bad coils out there. Everything about them looks authentic, and maybe they are, I don’t know. But many of them taste like a burning tire, regardless of how well soaked and primed, or what juice, or what mod, or what settings you use.

Some are just nasty out of the gate.

I just chuck them, rinse the tank, and try another.

And I may get one or two bad ones in a box, or all of them are nasty. I have found a few sellers who always have good ones and I stock up before they quit carrying them.

Need more information. And, that has not been my experience with the Nautilus 2 coils. They've been around forever as they were used (various forms of them) in the original Nautilus. They may not be the most robust coils of all time (although I get good life and performance out of them) they shouldn't be tasting burnt right out of the gate.

Since it's happened with multiple coils, I am going to guess some form of user error, or (less likely) perhaps a mechanical fault in the device, which may not be reading the coils correctly or some sort of fault like that. But, if they aren't cloned coils (and the ones that come with the tank certainly shouldn't be) my guess is going to be improper priming or trying to run at too high a wattage, etc.

We really need more information from the "OP" before starting to make guesses, or condemning all nautilus coils generally, honestly. I am supposing there may be user error, but my experience with the Nautilus coils has been quite different, and I rarely hear of "qc" complaints about them, either.

Sorry, I didn’t mean to come off like I’m bashing. I’m not, really. I think the issue in my case is the local shop where I was getting mine. I think he’s selling clones but I have no idea how to tell.

Last I heard, you look for the scratch off thing on the box. Yeah, his have that, but I still get a lot of duds from him.

I have never gotten a bad batch from the other shop, but that’s a fairly long drive for me.

Only advice I can give the op is prime them with a few drops, and let it soak for an hour or so.
