Northern NJ native , Coastal NC now.
For long term reliability i wouldn't touch anything by Eleaf , Joytech or Kangertech . I would get one of the all aluminum mods like the older Sigelei's or mods with a YiHi or Evolv chipset.

I am still using the ones i got years ago and they are as reliable as reliable gets. A lot of the new stuff to me are throw aways and not built for the long term.

I hear you. My old eleaf mods didn't last long, but I had heard good things about the pico. My subox is going strong still. Granted it has only been 7+ months. I have a zmax 3, but unfortunately it only goes to 1.3. I've been vaping .5 for quite some time now. I really do like that zmax though.

What are those other mods with the chips you speak of? I am on a budget so price and reliablity is what I'm looking for.

As the August date gets closer, I am looking to pick up a couple extra mods. I have a subox mini and love it, however the pico is looking very nice and it's a good price.

How reliable do you think the pico would be over the subox?

The Pico is far superior, (better chip, better construction, better battery life, etc), to any of Kanger's janky crap. It's also less expensive. Buy the Pico, it's a no-brainer when you've got experience using both devices, as I have.

Cool. I was thinking the same way. I was really liking the price. It is just I had bad luck with my last two eleafs. 20 and 50 watt, but I figured since it has an external battery and it looks solid that I may take the plunge.

Do it, you won't regret it. This is definitely worth watching, as well:

The Pico's body is a solid one piece design, not sure if it's zinc alloy or alum, but it's sturdy! I've dropped mine twice (hard) so far, once on gravel, once on concrete. I don't count the drops onto carpet or grass. So far it still works fine and only shows a few small scratches, from the concrete. I don't think I'd throw it on the floor like I did my Provari V2, but for day to day use, I'm very happy with it.
Wishing they'd hurry up with the SS version so I could order it already!

This video is what swayed me! He's long and boring, but worth the watch! Look at the body when he takes it apart, then think about the fact he takes it completely apart, puts it back together, and it works! How many $30 mods can you say that about?

If you're basing off of the iStick 20 and 50, re-evaluate since those were probably the two worst units they've put out as far as quality.

Ok. I feel a lot better now.

I just watched the video seems solid. I've decided that is what I am looking for. I'm going to pick up three.

Also, I noticed there is no rba, but those coils seem like they would be somewhat easy to rebuild. I like that it is topfill so I don't have to take it off as often there by hopefully keeping the threads on the mod in better shape for the long run.

But for $6 you can buy an RBA deck for it, see if the link works? Atlantis/Herakles/Ijust RBA Deck

Awesome! Thank you. I'll pick up a couple of those. Plus, I have a old Atantis tank I haven't used forever. I didn't like the stock coils so it hasn't gotten much use. That adds yet another tank to use for my stash.

One quick question...do the threads on the pico look good? That's what happened on my 20w. And I never over tightened it either. Maybe I should pick up heat sinks for all my mods just to be on the safe side.

I mostly use ss316 and do temp control. My Topbox mini randomly fires full blast and cooks wicks if I don't catch it in time. My better half's does too.
We both bought Picos without tanks a couple weeks ago and haven't touched the Topboxes since we got them. I bought a white model and can say I'm noticing some scratches in the finish. I don't think her pink is scratched yet. I'm sure the scratches are my fault, not necessarily bad finish.

My subox mini is scratched to hell, I use a silicone sleeve on it though. Maybe I won't choose a color on the pico.

I also have a Pico.

It is working great for me.

I posted a review of the Pico in my blog.

I LOVE the fact that it is a lower profile and more pocketable device

I have only had tge Pico a few weeks and so far it has been great.

A LOT of people bash everything by eleaf.

Every eleaf mod i have had has worked well. Every eleaf Atty i have had has been CRAP.
