fredo - that is VG, but it will evaporate before that temp as it is mixed with water, so safe. Atomizers also glow like this when dry. The question is lifetime - if nichrome should be good, same. Might be useful for cnstructing an atty in the event of a ban; nichrome wire is cheap but the stuff is very fine and difficult to work with.

Are you still able to sell on Ebay? I thought all e cigarettes were banned from there. For anyone who has had listings dropped from Ebay, it looks like you can still sell on ioffer.com

There are some listings still up for e-cigs on Ebay but, most are oversea sellers

Vageorge, That's an awesome find. I'd buy one if it get modded and works :D

If memory serves, June 30 is the cutoff for all electronic cigarettes now.
Prices seem to have sky-rocketed though in anticipation! Not good buys, most of them. US sellers have been banned for awhile.

Boy I missed all this news completely.
Must'a been asleep at the switch.
Could you please expand this a little for me Kate?
I mean about the "cutoff for all e'cigs".
Does this effect orders that have been placed to Chinese suppliers (like my order from Runyan for ex.)?
Thanks

I was just referring to the eBay sales....I would bet they will send them out, up to the last allowable sale! They've always been very good about sending, very reliable. May take a few extra days, as usual. Many of the sellers also have other items, so they're not going anywhere. eBay has been a huge boom to e-cigs, that's where I found my first one, an NPRO. But most US suppliers also had web sites, so wasn't a huge hurt to get banned from eBay. A good foot in the door, so to speak.

O.K. Thanks.
What I get for not reading the whole thread.

so anyone think that the electronic lighter might get a mod for an atty? I think it really has a good posibility. At least if your in a pinch...
I saw somewhere there was a mini burner( like an electric stove top heating element ) I wonder if something like that would work. If I remember it was only about 1/4 inch across... I have to see if I can find the web site again. Found it before I started vaping but I'll start looking.

Wow, you actually found one of those lighters! I was looking for one of those a month or so ago, thinking that I could use one for an Atty mod. Then I got to thinking, that I wouldn't even begin to know what and how to make one of those metal meshes with the ceramic insulator. So, needless to say, I scrapped the idea.

Now that time has gone on (3 months since I started vaping), I realize these attys work just fine. I bought 8-10 attys for each of my 4 different ecigs....and I'm still on the originals. I don't think 5-10 bucks is asking much if each of my attys provide 3 months or more of use. So, creating one is not on the agenda.

Some would say that it would be great to be able to make an atty for a possibility of a ban. I'm not that worried about that either. I really don't think a ban on these devices will happen. Maybe the liquid, but not the device. If someone can go to a head shop and buy items to smoke herbs (although they are sold and advertised as novelties)....then, surely an ecig can be just as much a novelty item, therefore, untouchable.

How about a car cigarette lighter as a heavy duty atomizer heater?

Hmm. How quickly do car lighters come up to temp? They have 12v, but I think their 'element' is a more standard metal, no?

Interesting idea though..any deposits seem unlikely to be able to break the connection there, although cleaning may be difficult.

    Like a 'super-atty'..on it's end..no?
