Hmm. How quickly do car lighters come up to temp? They have 12v, but I think their 'element' is a more standard metal, no?
Interesting idea though..any deposits seem unlikely to be able to break the connection there, although cleaning may be difficult.

The price of a physically bigger coil is slower heating up and more power usage. A car cig lighter is way too slow; the portable lighter might be suitable; but no real thoughts as to whether it might be worth pursuing. Some new idea might come out of experimenting with it ...
I've often thought that the nichrome wire could take on a different shape; perhaps flatter to the juice droplet path. More like a disc than a cylinder. This at least is worth thinking about.
