LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 08, 2013-- As MEPs on the European Parliament's Environment, Public Health, and Food Safety Committee (ENVI), prepare to vote on proposals to amend the tobacco Products Directive (TPD), over 1,000 former cigarette smokers from across the EU have added their names to an open letter addressed to the committee's chairman, Matthias Groote MEP. These former smokers, like seven million others across the EU, have all switched to e-cigarettes and as a result have either quit smoking or reduced the number of cigarettes that they smoke.
