Hey does anyone know about the effects of vapor on electronics?

I have a small home studio and when i am in there making music i like to vape and i am wondering if the vapor can destroy electronics like analogs can.

Wow, never thought of it before! I guess its a little bit like dry ice at gigs and I never heard of dry ice messing up amps etc.

Are you using tape? Or digital recording? vaping can apparently leave a bit of a film on a car windshield according to some people.

If you smoked in there before, I wouldn't worry about vaping. If not, then take a clean, spotless mirror and place it face up on/near your equipment and do a quick 'residue' evaluation.

If you do this, please post your results.

This is just my thought, but I think that the smoke from cigarettes is far worse for electronics than vaping. Since we started vaping, we've had to clean out our computers less and our monitors don't get that nasty build up anymore.

For what it's worth, I vape in front of a big iMac screen all day and all night and it doesn't attract any film on the screen.

So i did what iffy said and placed a few mirrors around my studio. One at the same angle as my screen. One near my amps and rack units. And one last one near my instuments. The mirrors near my amps and instrumenrs were spotless after a week. The one near my computer screen had a slight film on it. Somewhat like a fog.

The interesting thing is my screen is an lcd and the screen is made of a different material than glass, which had no residue on it...go figure. Anyway i think only time will tell. I have crt's from the early 90's that still function perfectly. If my new equipment ....s the bed i'll know where to start looking.

Just remember that normal air has a lot of things floating around in it - dust, body skin flakes - the e-cig should only add very little to it. If you are worried get a air cleaner and run it in the room.

With high VG liquid I absolutely get a film on my car windshield over time. Nowhere near like the yellow cig film, but definitely there, real. Quick to clean off.

I do the same thing, creating clouds of vapor that completely white out my screen for a few seconds. Haven't noticed any film on it.

What I want to know is.. does the vapor smell? Would my friends be opposed to letting me vape in their houses due to the smell?

It varies by liquid, some have a much stronger lingering smell than others. It really depends on what fragrances your friends don't like

It might smell like coffee, candy, gum, vanilla or fruit. Some people can't get over seeing the vapor, so it's hard to tell. I have non-smoking friends who are fine with it and others who wince, even though they say they can't smell anything.
