I have only been vaping for a couple of months, so you can probably see why i am asking this question. (I am still quite a new vapor, if that helps)

To the point... Where does eliquid go after vaping so much? I mean we vape bottles and bottles and bottles..ML after ML every day. Where does this go? Do we just like have to cough it up? Explaing the phlegm problem I have been having after I get myself worked up "Like after eating, or working out, anything in general that gets my body worked up" I start hacking up phelgm. I would imagine it would be from me just quitting ciggerettes as well. But I would also imagine that alot of this is also from all the juice that I vape as well that is going to my lungs. Will I always cough Phlegm up periodically? I would think so, I mean you lungs can probably only hold so much before it starts releasing that stuff back up out of you system right?

Thanks for any opinions.

The liquid turns into vapor and evaporates. I am not a doctor, but I doubt your phlegm problem is caused by the vapor.

Stopping smoking can cause phlegm. While smoking cigarettes, your body's immune system ignores your lungs. Now that the cigs are gone, your immune system is perhaps doing it's job by cleaning out your lungs like it's supposed to.

Also, if you are new at this, you may want to consider the type of juice you use. I had an issue once with high VG juices. They just made my chest feel heavy. Not so much an issue anymore since I completely stopped using analogs. A lot of people are also sensitive to PG. I would recommend playing around with different juice mixes to see if that helps.

Also, if you have a lot of phlegm and/or chest discomfort, I would be sure to see a doctor to get checked out.

I have been smoke free for over a year and my days of coughing up stuff from smoking went away pretty fast after quitting analogues. That said, I also get a heavy chest and tons of phlegm if I vape high VG juice as well. I was so stoked to try Boba's Bounty (100%VG) but can only use it as a spot vape because of the phlegm it causes. In the last year I have pretty much gravitated to 70PG/30VG juices for that reason. They are just cleaner. Even then, on days where I chain vape all day, I will get phlegm built up by night time. There is definitely a connection. If I cut down on my vaping the phlegm goes away. That said, my lungs feel so much better and I am amazed at how much different my lung capacity is vs. when I was still smoking.

Yep. Must be something about VG for some of us. I tried Boba's. It's ok...but I really love the Gorilla Juice. I'm able to vape high VG these days, but back when I was still smoking cigs, my lungs didn't like VG. Now I actually prefer higher VG in most of my juices. VG seems to not burn as easily as my high PG juices.

Yes, I do use VG and PG, as far as ratios it is really hard to completely nail the #'s on the head, because, I have alot of different juices from different companys..with this being said I mix them together (they are different ratios of PG and VG) plus I usually add a little filtered water to thin it out some (just started doing this btw). I have some 100% VG from mt bakor, some 60/40 pg vg from zeus e juice, some 50/50s.. the list goes on. I can clearly tell most of the time just by looking at the juice of what it contains. I usually just eye it plus add up all of my mixings and try to come up with a number that would be approximately close to what I am smoking, so that I will at least have an idea. Most of the time I am around a 50/50. 100% VG tends to be too much... (like a couple of you said, i am just now quitting smoking (I mit have 1 or 2 a day now only when needed) and it might be from the VG being too much for my lungs right now). It could be the little bit of water I have been adding too. I tend to cough a little more since I have added a little more ( which doesn't hurt me, its just a little cough). But this is hard to pinpoint what is honestly making me cough, when I have just "basically" stopped smoking ciggerettes, use different %'s of juices, different nic levels, and water... lol. I am like a scientist trying to figure this out....

PG is much thinner, but when I get to low of a PG i don't get my vapor that i love, when I get too high of a VG my lungs can't take too much of it. We can't always get what we want right? lol. Its a learning experience to says the LEAST.

And then there is flavorings...so yeah...i totally forgot to get into that as all of these juices that i smoke are from different companys and use different flavorings. lol.

Have I rattled your brain enough yet?:spam:

It might just be your lungs clearing out from all those years of smoking. I've been cigarette-free for almost 14 years and the only time I get phlegmy from vaping is if my coils are gunked up and the juice is burning on them and irritating my lungs because I'm too lazy/busy to dry burn and rewick. I'm a chain-vaper, too, since I work from home, sometimes I think I breathe more vapor than air :D Most of my juice is heavier on the VG side than PG.

I did not read all of the responses, so I am likely to repeat. Phlegm can be caused by the lungs simply healing themselves. it will pass over time.

Also, for me, and some others, vaping juice that is high in VG will also cause this. Buy juice where you can pick the PG/VG ratio and this is not an issue.

And, drinking water, which you should be doing anyways, will help loosen up the phlegm.

I get that with PG, but not VG. My husband gets it with VG, but not PG. I'm PG sensitive, so while I can vape a little PG, over 20% is very irritating and causes problems, but even the 20% causes me to have some coughing and phlegm. My husband is the exact opposite.

My coughing up phlegm after I quit smoking lasted almost three months, if I remember correctly. That could be because I was vaping very high PG before I found high/all VG juices, though. So, your issues could just be because you recently quit smoking, but it could be your juice.

Or, it could be something else. If it continues, gets any worse, etc., I would see a doctor about it.
