Hey all, this is my first post to the forum, I've been vaping for about a year and a half and I love it more than the day I started. Recently though I've dove into the universe of rda's, Ive had about 4 in the past 3 months and they all work differently in their own way and all have their pros and cons, Right now im running a (new and in love) IPV Mini v2 70w, w/ a littleboy rda. I love this combo, at 50 watts it puts out great flavor and vapor, A problem Ive been noticing though that Ive never had with any of my other 4 rda's is that I'm getting a lot of liquid in my mouth. Now what "a lot" constitutes for any of y'all may be different than me, its not like I have an upside down cup of water in my mouth just allowing a busted dam of liquid, but i can just feel the liquid on my tongue, and its kind of gross to me, don't know why.

So what are your suggestions or comments? this is my second large bore rda, and I love its flavor/ airflow features, its just the eliquid backwash that's really putting me off, all advice is welcome! Thanks in advance!:p

Also, pay attention to your wicking, definitely. Having too much wick/juice in the well causes the juice to boil and splash up before it's been atomized. Leave space under the coil so that you have plenty of airflow under the coil, and keep the tips of your wick in the well so it can pick up the juice.

Thanks! Tried that out and its doing a lot better now. not getting as many pulls as I was with my previous choice of wicking method. But Ill take that over a mouthful of eliquid.

I use Japanese cotton now but when I used organic cotton balls I did the same. I make the wick so that it is snug when I slide it into the coil, but I use 3mm to wrap my coil. If the coil is moving when I'm pulling the cotton through, I pull it back out and snip off a bit to make it fit better until it fits through snug but not enough to move the coils, then I cut it so the tails are long enough to touch the bottom of the deck and push them down and back towards the posts. This has been giving me a lot of vapor and flavor and I feel like I get a decent amount of hits. I only get juice in my mouth if I over-dripped (especially after re-wicking) and it's not a lot. Good luck!

I believe we call that "spitback". It's where your coils are so hot it vaporizes the liquid so intensely and so quickly, that it boils. take the cover off your RDA, and fire it. You'll notice a bunch of tiny hot particles flying all over when you fire it.

There are a few options, one is to lower the wattage so it doesn't spit back as much.

The second, is to give more wick to coil surface area and raise the ohms. It should provide you with as much vapor, but might be longer heatup time and a slightly cooler vape.

The last option is to get a longer drip tip. Longer drip tips minimize the spitback, but also cools the vapor down a bit.

Oh, almost forgot, Another option is to build vertical coils instead of horizontal. This will make the "spitback" be more concentrated back to the side of the atomizer. Also, make sure your coils aren't directly under the drip tip.. try to move them closer to the edge of the atomizer. I've also noticed I get more sputters when I have a fresh wick installed. Try running the wick for a bit and see if it dies down.

just my :2c: worth.

A lot of times it's the opposite. The coils aren't hot enough to vaporize all of the liquid so it builds up some excess which you then suck up. Also the vapor particles tend to be larger and condense on the inside of the drip tip easier.

Sounds like Jake has already found the cause though. He needed a slight change in wicking style for this tank.
