Empire mods...LR 1.7 bridgeless atty...I CANNOT REMOVE THE STUPID CAP!!!

The black insert cap that is not necessary is literally welded in...I cannot get that dumb thing out to drip. Normally with any other cap removal it has been a simple pry with a paperclip...not so much here.

These attys are made for dripping...why the cap is even there is a mystery...why I cant remove it is infuriating.

Anyone ever bought one of these and know how to remove it? I really dont want to tear up $7 attys to get a dumb cap out.

...it even says it has a black throwaway cap...Im literally stretching the plastic cap out of the atty...it does not want to be removed.

I don't have any of these attys, but it sounds like the hard-cap Boge cartos, which have glued in caps. PITA to remove! I have used a pair of scissors and pried the caps off, one pointed end into the center hole, which sometimes tears them up before they break loose. Since the site does say they are throw-away caps, I would contact Empire to see how they do it. Might be something simple, or it might be their supplier glued them in erroneously.

Looks like a fairly typical 306 atty. I just pull off the throwaway cap and push on a 306 drip tip.

Maybe you can pull the cap off and cut the end off? The caps on the 306 type attys I buy are one-piece so the end with the small hole is not removable anyway, thus my use of drip tips.

Well usually these caps are longer than the atty itself (on my 306s they are).

Forget paper clips, screw it on trashed battery and grab the top with some pliers. And work it off. Maybe a little heat from a blow dryer to soften and expand the cap might help.
