Hey everybody. I’ve combed through all the nic storage and vapeapocolypse threads I can and am trying to absorb everything I’ve learned. I started vaping in 2012 and have always used prebuilt coils.
I have vaped a certain commercial ejuice for many years now. I did buy a gallon of it in my preferred 6 mg nic level. I go through 50 ml a week so I’m set for about a year with that. Then I have to dive into DIY. I bought some extra mods, coils, some ares 2 tanks for rebuildable coils, and 4 liters of 100mg nicotine. With the calculations I’ve done, the nic should last me 15 years or so. I’m having anxiety thinking I need to buy more because River Supply has nic on sale and of course I think I need more. I’m in the process of trying to figure out how to store my nicotine in the freezer. Right now I have a frig/freezer, so I have limited and weird space. The 8oz Boston round bottles won’t fit standing up on the shelves available in my freezer. I could buy all 4 oz bottles but I don’t know where I’d put all of them. I will have a stand alone freezer in the next couple of months just waiting on it to be donated to me from a family member, so storage will not be a problem when I get it. Is it ok to store the glass bottles with the nicotine in it on their side for a few months, maybe double bagged in ziplock bags? Or should I keep it in the original bottle in the bottom of my closet in a box until I get the other freezer.

Please help either talk me into or out of buying 1-2 more liters of nicotine and whether or not I need to do some major rearranging of the freezer in order to store the bottles upright. I’ve gained so much knowledge already, just need a little more to ease the vape mail pain. Thanks.

Go ahead and get the nic, you can always sell it or give it away.

I bought as many graduated size glass bottles and polycone caps as I needed; 1 liter, 1 500ml, 2 250ml, 2 100ml and 2 60ml. Nic shouldn't be harmed when breaking a liter down, even by bringing to room temp for transfer once or twice, as long you are able to fill the graduated bottles to where there's a little headroom.

More is best :) But if you have financial issues or no space to store properly, and you already have 15 years worth, well, you're doing better than most that this last stage, I suspect. 15 years is a good bit.

Although I personally don't like the idea of storing nic long term in plastic, I wouldn't worry too much about storing in the plastic bottles it comes in for a few months while you figure out what you're gonna do in terms of long term storage. Just so long as you store those plastic bottles of nic in the freezer in the mean time.

When you do take them out of the freezer to decant into glass, keep the botles closed and let them come to room temp before decanting.

I bought 4 litres of nic here in the uk, when the second tpd came. I have nearly used 1 litre, in that time.

I am still having fights with the family about me having nic in the freezer.

They say I wont use it so get rid. But there is 2 of us using it at the moment.

Me with 3-6mg dependant on how I vape. And nephew who uses 50ml every 2 weeks of 18mg.

Here in the uk it is 72mg that is allowed for b2b now.

I thought about doing that. Thanks for the details of how you broke it down.

Thanks. Just the advice I was looking for. I’ll put it in the freezer ASAP. Finances are not the problem, my husband might freak but he’ll be alright.

Sure. I suppose you could get by with just one of the 250ml and 100ml. I think I bought 2 in case one broke during transit, or more likely I didn't know what I was doing :D.

I'd recheck your calculations. At 7mg a day, 6ml strength, a liter of 100 nic should get you well over 6 years. So, the 4 liters you have are at least 25 years?
And by mixing yourself, I'll bet you can easily get to 5mg, giving you 7.8 years/liter.
Double check me with a Vapocalypse Calculator.

    Good luck.

    :)

Well....you’re right. I just filled a 50 ml bottle and used it for a week like normal until it was empty. I wanted to know exactly how much I vaped. So, between 20-25 years for what I have, if I happen to vape a little bit more at times. So I don’t really need more, it’s just the anxiety kicking in. I think in 25 years, there should be a solution to this situation we’re in now or I quit before I turn 70.

Buy as much nic as you can, or need, per the calculator. Getting an extra "just in case" bottle or two won't hurt either.

Just allow a bit for spoilage, spillage, etc. We ain't perfect.
But do consider lowering the nic. I went from 5 to 2.5 in about a year, doubling my stash life!

And I do hope those other folks come to realize how many lives this vaping thing can and has saved. And put an end to this ridiculousness.

One thing is certain: I will never smoke again!

I’ve lowered the nic mixing 3 and 6mg strengths together the last 2 months. I’m not sure how it’s going yet.

Won’t ever going back to smoking. Smells and taste so gross now.

I have just under 4 liters myself and by my calculations, at roughly 240ml per month usage of 6mg/ml vape juice, a liter should make about 138 120/ml bottles which will last me just over 5 yrs. One 120ml bottle only takes 7.2ml of of the 100mg/ml nicotine to get close to the 6mg/ml strength i prefer. It may be off by a tenth or so as I dont mix by weight but my body cant tell a difference if the numbers aren't scientifically exact.
