And #6 Even though you live in AZ and you don't have to really deal with winter. lol

Thanks! Never won anything before, so it will come in handy :)

And as for winter, Sedona is in Northern AZ and is about 5000 feet above sea level, so yes, we actually do get winter here (except for this year which was incredibly mild), but I've seen snow up to 3 feet here. Flagstaff which is up the hill a bit, 28 miles or so is at 7000 ft ASL and gets some rather extreme snow...couple years ago during some intense storms several business roofs collapsed as did some car ports...anything with a flat roof was in trouble!

I'd like to do more with the HDR stuff also, have a bunch of the software, but never really used it/them with any success. Found the vibrancy thing on photoshop to do an ok job, but it's easy to go too far LOL.

And don't forget Flagstaff!

Now there and Prescott are fine in the summer, both a bit higher elevation than Sedona...never even needed air conditioning in Flag, Apparently there's no record of Flagstaff ever reaching 100 degrees. Highest I've seen it is 96, but mostly stays below 90, so it's nice to go there to get out of the heat sometimes. But no a big fan of the winters there. But even winter there is way better than the midwest or east coast LOL

I'm guilty of playing with photos too - I've tried mostly unsuccessfully ;) I know reproducing HDR is tempting to do in PS but there's a fine line between enhancing and improving (the line I have yet to find personally). I misspoke when I said I had only been north of Sedona... I've been from Phoenix to Tucson and the GC, just never one of the prettiest parts apparently (Sedona to Prescott). Ugh, I know the heat and it can be oppressive so, yes, spring and fall would be ideal. Yes, one does tend to take for granted their immediate surroundings - I moved here from the Bay Area (CA), and only afterwards visited and appreciated all that I missed out on seeing the first go around... c'est la vie. I'm no pro, but the photos you take indicate a keen eye for natural beauty... much respect :)
