Engraving vs Embossing.

I have come to realize that several youtube vaping channel hosts are confused by the difference between engraving and embossing. Engraving is actually etched into the surface, but embossing is applied to the surface. Some might say this is a trivial, inconsequential distinction, but wait until the 'engraving' peels off during cleaning and polishing. Embossing is more prevalent in clones rather than with authentics.

I always thought that engraving was etched and embossing was pressed into the surface.... either way, it produces a 3D effect on the surface.
