I have been vaping for about 6 months and have always been a little disappointed in the weak taste of almost all the juices I've tried from many vendors and my own DIY efforts and over a range of devices including Reo's, non-regulated devices, variable wattage devices, and every type of atty I could get my hands on. I recently got an Omega RDA and decided to put 2 coils in it, and sort of by mistake ended up with a resistance of 0.4 ohms (I usually shoot for 1 to 2 ohms); I put a 30A Sony battery in my Nemesis and tried it out, and it pretty much blew my head off. I don't care much about vapor quantity (although it is increased in this setup), but the taste is finally there! Tried several of my commercial juices as well as some of my DIY ones, and the flavor is magnified ten-fold (which may be a good or a bad thing, depending on the juice). I don't know if this is just a happy coincidence with my taste buds finally recovering, but I suspect that the higher power going through the coils is flash vaporizing more of the flavor molecules into the vapor stream instead of them just burning on the coil. Anyway, I'm pretty pleased with this development. I know that this is a controversial topic and I'm not advocating people do sub-ohm builds unless they really know what they are doing with the right equipment and safe batteries, but thought I'd share my experience.

You're not alone. Sub-Ohming is really, for me, where it's at. I don't much care (well, I don't care for them at all) for higher ohm builds. They never were able to satisfy me and had I not stumbled into rebuilding, I probably wouldn't have been vaping all that long. Pre-Built coils just didn't do it for me.

I tend to hover between .4 and .8 ohms on most of my own builds - single and dual coils - and that gives me everything I need from a vape.

Yeah, I was never really attracting to the idea of sub-ohm builds because it seems like most of the emphasis is on generating huge plumes of vapor which wasn't something I was interested in; maybe I just missed it, but it seemed like there wasn't much discussion of the benefits of subohming on enhancing flavor. Anyway, glad I stumbled onto it.

I have been building sub ohm for quite a while now and for me I thought it was where I would end my search for the best vape. Fortunately though, I was curious about a kayfun with a microcoil and I can say the flavor is even better here and without the negatives of subohm, which for me were wicks drying out and going through insane amounts of juice. Also running 1.5ohm is clearly less stress on the batt.

My point is, there's still other methods of getting a great vape, so just more fun stuff to look forward to if you haven't tried it out.

I have a Russian and still prefer sub ohm drippers or gennys with the white AO wick. The Russian has good flavor for a higher ohm build, but it's not the same as the the untamed .5 ohm beast. It's more reliable as a pocket vape and I use it when I want to chain vape and save battery. It does enhance TH as well. I like 24Ga Ka the most so far and 24Ga is really hard to capture with those tiny screws and is too hot for the airflow and small chamber, ends up cooking the liquid.

Yes AO wick=Al2O3=ceramic. I use the Bon 60 grit porous ceramic tile to be more specific.

Just dry burned my coils in my Russian/ replaced the hemp and I have to say the flavor is about the same with my current builds while it was inferior with previous ones. I have a short AO wick wrapped with 26 Ga slightly under an ohm with degummed hemp fiber feeds. The dripper has a slight edge on the Russian but they're comparable.

Protip: It's not either or.

Try a sub ohm micro.
