I am now 2 weeks short of one year no stinkies and vaping is vital to my existence! My pacifier. If my hardware dies I may also die. I have 2 VTR's and backups are an SVD and a Vamo. One VTR about 8 months of daily use and the other not yet in service.

6 18650 batteries (not counting 2 18350's because can't use in VTR) and 7 usable tanks. 2 batteries one year old and 2 I got in February then 2 more in May. I have 2 chargers, one 2 bay and one 4 bay.

Enough? Flirting with disaster? Seems that deliveries are less than a week if I did need more hardware. Think I am being too cheap?

I am satisfied with performance, but if multiple things die in same week...

I had 7 18650 batteries until this morning and I am getting more of those, so figured asking here may supply a perspective I have not considered.

Never enough. Always pays to have back ups :) I've lost count of my batteries, but my mec mods alone are in double figures if I count the clones. And as for drippers, tanks, clearomisers, etc...... well you get the idea

I *think* I'm okay for now. My hardware collection pales in comparison to most but I've got what I consider to be the essentials. I'm not worried about being caught without a functional device. I probably do need to build my juice reserve back up though.

1 mech (18650 Workhorse)
2 regulated boxes (DNA30 clone, IPV2)
4 RTA (3 Eleaf Lemos, 1 SqR clone)
2 RDA (Mutation X, Infinite CLT)
13 18650 (3 VTC5, 4 VTC4, 4 VTC3, 2 Samsung 25R)

I do have plans for a third regulated box, another mech, and a few more RDAs. Should be good to go at that point... at least until I'm not. :)

I don't have much gear. After 16 month of vaping all I have is:
REO grand with another REO arriving next week as my bday gift.
nemesis clone with kayfun clone - main backup and loaner to friends who are interested in vaping.
zmax 3 with a bunch of protanks, but I didn't use it in about 1 year.

In reality i don't see a need for anything else besides my reos.

Some people always want more stuff, the newest thing, etc. I'm sure you'll hear from a lot of those in this thread.

For me, I have a Provari, a couple of different backup options, and I'm happy. I haven't bought new vape toys in awhile, and I'm not really tempted. It sounds to me like you're in a similar situation. You have what you need, you have backups, and you're happy.

One thing I would suggest is to think about a power outage. If a big storm knocks out the power in your area, and you don't have electricity for several days, are you in good shape? I have a charger in my car that's a backup. Other than a test, I've never used it, but it will recharge my 18650's from the cig-lighter plug, so I can recharge if needed in case of a power outage. Just a suggestion.

Congratulations on the year mark! Sounds like a great collection of mods, I think you need more back ups :)

I bought a used VTR of the classifieds here and it has become my more or less go to device. Do need to pick up more 18650's for it though. Only have two which is more than enough as long as something doesn't go wrong. I only run single 18350's in the Vamos and the SVD these days, for the smaller profile. Didn't really care for the SVD when I first got it but it has grown on me.

enough hardware?

NEVER

I love buying and trying. Sometimes 1/2 the challenge is figuring out the designers intent and getting everything set up right. Once that is accomplished a NEW challenge must be acquired. :)

Now my Wife is becoming part of the Challenge. She only Vapes when she cannot afford her RYO supplies.
Guess Who's stash gets raided?
Woman breaks more in a Week than I have in 2 years Vaping.

I'm Not complaining. I would much rather have her Vaping full time.

Gotta Go. Have to order replacements for the 2 ego batteries she broke this weekend. :(

Daily use:
vamo 5
RGM2
RG280
Occasional use:
iClear 16
Fogger v4
IGO-W
Spares:
Vamo 5
RGM2
iClear 16
Useless:
Aerotank

I think I have enough (and I have all I need for DIY – juices and coils). May be I’ll buy the cheapest mech mod – not for use, but as a spare to my spare vamo. May be something next year.

Duh moment on my part. I haven't even ever thought about that and living right near the coast (little N of Galveston) I still remember how long we went without power during/after Ike. Looks like I need to go shopping for an inverter. Thank you, I would be back to smoking after a few hours during all that stress.

Noooo. The month old Nitecore D4 is in the throws of a slow heat related death. Wify says "Gotta have a back up!"
I admit, Gotta have a back up for the back up!

I`v averaged about two bits of kit (that would be the complete set up) for every month of cig free sobriety. Hell, I used to pay 3 bucks a smoke, so its all GOOD!

:?)

Shinyitis is not only for vapers. It took me 30 flashlights (averaging 80$ each with a few in the 200$ range) to understand you only need the ones you use and the rest are backups you bought mostly because they were appealing on paper and in the pictures. I reached the conclusion that you need 2-3 for daily use, but you might buy more than 10 to find the correct ones and hen need to upgrade when newer tech comes out.

I now wait until the previous hardware is paid off before the next purchase and now, instead of buying that DNA30, I'm waiting for the DNA40 board to be sold to the general public and make my own box.

Tank-wise, the basic principle is the same: 2-3 very nice tanks/RBA/RDA (depending on user preference) for your 2-3 daily vapes and the rest to hold some juices you like to vape on occasion.

In conclusion, ideally, one should have 3 great mods, 3 great tanks and whatever number of backups of each they are comfortable with, but buy them at a slower pace so you won't need to buy more just to upgrade.
