looking for opinions\reviews and any input on the EPOWER 2 by Katady?! 2200 mah, vv 'box' mod. Looks like a cell phone. Anyone? It says in description 'can charge APPLE devices' does it limit charging strictly to apple products or what?

ePower 2 - Variable Voltage Mod + Charging Ports - Black

It does NOT offer variable wattage-if someone can also explain the advantage of choosing wattage rather than voltage-that could help me make a decision too... :)

I don't know that I would choose this over an MVP V2... Seems like you're limited to what devices it will support on top without the use of an adapter. MVP V2 has VV and VW... MVP has much longer battery life... Variable Voltage in .1V Increments, where this thing only has a few settings... A real digital readout on MVP2, where this device uses color coded LED to show what voltage you have set... Ohm meter... The MVP really makes this thing look like a novelty item...

Variable wattage is almost like having a built in calculator... It reads the resistance of your coil, and selects the correct voltage to fire to achieve your desired power output. Some folks find this a bit easier than using variable voltage, as you have to adjust voltage for every device you install. With variable wattage, if you like vaping at say 8 Watts, then you set it to 8 watts and the mod does the rest of the work for you. I don't have a preference for VW devices over VV myself, both work equally well... VW is just easier for some folks.

At 101vapes, the MVP is the same price... It's really a no brainer to me... Unless you just prefer the look?

Oh yeah, the MVP can charge your cell phone too... :D

It's also not true VV either - it appears to have only six fixed voltages. You will have to memorize a color chart for the LED to know what voltage you are running. And did you notice this:

Please Note: This does not come with any atomizers. Important: The Protank will NOT fit this unit properly, the gap for the top ego connector is only 18.5mm
The protank is almost 19mm and while it will screw in and work, it will end up slightly damaging the edges of this unit.

That also means you risk snapping the threads off the base of a ProTank from the added stress. It's enough of a problem preventing that from happening with a device that the PT actually fits onto properly.

I don't see the love here. For that price, with built-in limitations, and a size restriction for devices you can attach to it... I'll pass. The MVP gives you a lot more bang for the buck in a similar device without these issues.

Thanks for input! This is a prime example of why I ALWAYS reach out and ask BEFORE I make a decision! You both helped me see something about my options I had not seen myself. I have been eyeing the mvp2 for a while and Saturday I held one and fell in love even more. And with 101 having thr best price, im pulling the trugger for myself and my hubby!!! :) can't wait to get it!!! :) now, to choose the color. Im leaning towards the textured black one! thanks again...

I don't think you will be disappointed. You are also getting a much higher capacity battery in the MVP than the EPOWER. You should see an easy two days between charging.

We forgets: About that whole VV versus VW thing? This is kind of a contentious matter. You can find lot's of threads on ECF about "What's the difference between...?"

The biggest point of having VV and/or VW modes is the flexibility. In either mode you get to adjust the voltage to suit the resistance of the device you are using. That's a good thing.

For me (and a lot of other people) variable wattage is the most electronically non sensible thing. It's like starting at the end of an electronics equation with "equals wattage" and filling in the voltage and resistance figures accordingly. It's akin to saying "I want to buy a light bulb that uses 100 watts. But I don't really care how it performs or how much light it produces. As long as it uses 100 watts of power - that's what I want." That's not a very sensible way to buy a light bulb, or make assumptions that your APV is giving you what you want either.

If this is your first variable anything best not to over think the point. Ultimately, in either mode, you now have the flexibility to tweak your experience to suit your attached device and your liquid. For me doing it in VV mode just makes more sense. For you it might be VW instead.
